We have been busy, busy, busy! We went to Tyler for Christmas and it was wonderful! I love spending time with my family. They are so much fun and it seems that we laugh constantly. It also brought me so much joy to have Hudson in Tyler for his very first Christmas. I told my family before hand not to go overboard on gifts because 1). Hudson is 5 and 1/2 months old and 2). Where on earth will we put all the stuff??? So of course, they did not listen to what I said and they totally went crazy on the gifts. Toys and more toys. But it's fun, and I have just come to the realization that our home will forever be covered in toys. After our visit in Tyler we came home for one night and then left for Midland to be with Matt's family. It was Hudson's first flight. Going there was a nightmare. He cried the entire time....or screamed the entire time. The pressure was hurting his ears. He would not eat, drink, NOTHING. It was miserable and by far the longest hour in our life. Matt and I cried with him because there was nothing we could do to make it better. But once we landed it was our same sweet boy with a big smile on his face. We had a great time in Midland with all of Matt's family. There was 14 of us in one house! But it was great, and very relaxing. Hudson got his first tooth while we were there too! We flew home on New Years Eve, and the flight home was great. Hudson fell asleep right before take off, woke up in the middle of the flight, and then fell back asleep when we landed. What a relief! I was a nervous wreck before we left. New years eve....um, we were all 3 in bed by 9:30. I know, we are old.
We were so glad to be home and it just be the 3 of us again. It is always fun to be with family, but it is always good to be home with our little family. Here are some pictures from our week. I hope everyone has a wonderful and very blessed 2006!
So cute! I know how Hudson feels, sometimes I want to cry on flights:) Can I just say that I love the sweater that you wore in your family photos, and the beige one from Christmas. Where did you get them, I have to steal them and you fashion sense:) You are the most gorgeous family. Love you guys!

I totally hear you. Our New Years was our first night home from the hospital. I was feeding Carley in my pjs at midnight.
ReplyDeleteMan, parenting does change things.
Hudson is precious!
Allison- blessings on your new year! This may sound like the strangest thing in the world but I overheard a flight attendent once that said for babies if you'll put cups over their ears with warm cloths (like a paper towel with warm water) that it helps them adjust to the pressure. Now I've not had the opportunity to try this out, and it sounds goofy but it seemed to work on the kid sitting behind us. The Christmas card of Hudson in the camp office is precious. Hope everything's going well for you all. K3-'06?
