Where do I begin? August has been such an eventful month that it almost is a blur. I'll do my best to recap this past month!
- My mother-in-law came a few days before it was move-in day. She helped us soooo much preparing our house to be move-in-ready. She and I painted sooo much! We painted the master bedroom, master bedroom ceiling, Hudson's room, laundry room, and guest bedroom. LOTS OF WORK! I could not have done it without Karen! Thank you Karen so much for helping us!!!
- We moved in the first weekend of the month. It went really well. We had so much help moving us in. THANKS EVERYONE!!! Hudson spent the week in Tyler so we were DYING to have him back. It was such a perfect reunion. Matt and I did not want to do anything but play with him.
- Karen and Lauren (Matt's youngest sister) stayed the week with us. They helped unpack boxes and watched Hudson for me. Again....I could not have done it without them. We'd still be up to our necks with boxes.
- The following weekend I went to Brownwood for the weekend with 3 girlfriends from ACU. We had so much fun! It was so good to get away and relax the WHOLE weekend. We stayed up late talking, layed out ALL DAY LONG floating in the lake, ate great food, and just enjoyed each others company. It was a much needed get away and I loved every second!
- The next week was just me and Hud for the first time. Matt has to work in Plano until October. The head boss guy had to have surgery so Matt was the lucky guy to cover him while he's out. Let me just say....I absolutely HATE being away from Matt. Every second is hard for me. I am the type of girl that everyday, no matter what, I am so excited for Matt to walk in the door. I still get the excited butterflies to see his face. Nothing makes me happier than to have him home with us. So being away from him for a whole week at a time is so hard. It's hard because I miss him so bad, and 2 because he is such a help with Hudson. Matt is such the hands-on daddy that when he gets home from work it's like mom off duty. Matt plays with him and bathes him and lets me have a break. I never knew how much help that really was cause now I go until 9 and I feel like a zombie at 9:00. The 1st week was rough, the second week was super hard, so hopefully this week will be better. He left tonight for Amarillo. We both cried saying bye. Hopefully October will come soon. This house is just not a home without it being the 3 of us. And it's lonely being in Ft. Worth in a new house all alone. OK....enough of that!
- The following weekend we went to Midland for Matt's cousins wedding. It was so fun and just breath taking. I love the Mullins side of the family. They are so much fun to be around! Hudson did great in the car and did great at the wedding. He had so many people to take care of him and love on him. He'll go to anyone no matter what. I love that about him.
- On the drive back we stopped in Abilene to eat Joe Allen's and move Lauren into Gardner dorm. One thing is for sure Joe Allen's just isn't near as good as it use to be since they moved locations. Kinda sad. It was so fun and exciting moving Lauren into the dorm. What fun time she is embarking on. I loved my freshman year. LOVED IT! I can't believe it was 7 years ago. Crazy how fast time goes. She is going to do great and have a blast!
- Hudson started taking steps about 2 weeks ago. He is so cute trying to walk. His hands held out for balance as he waddles to me. Sooo cute. When he falls he'll just sit and clap for himself. He's so proud of his new accomplishment. The most he has taken is 7 steps. He gets a little braver everyday. He now will walk from one piece of furniture back to another. He is not a full time walker yet. I'll let ya know when he is.
- To make my weeks better I became a member at the Ft. Worth zoo. Now we can go as many times as we want and not pay to get in or for parking. So that'll be fun for Hudson and I. I also have a few friends to keep me company. They all have been pretty busy lately, but now I think we are going to do better in making plans! I sure hope so!
So that is about it in a nutshell. Life has been really busy but fun!
Love the new pics!!! Hudson is getting so big. I love that he claps for himself when he walks and falls. If you ever get lonely, I am just a phone call away. Call me during Project Runway and we can dish together:)
ReplyDeleteLoved the new pictures - you're right, Hudson is the cutest thing!! You have been a busy girl! I have neglected my blog lately and hope to update it with the latest happenings here sometime this week. I totally understand you hating your hubby being out of town. I know all about that all-too-well!! Be sure to take advantage of having girlfriends around - that definitely helps me! Hang in there!!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of Hudson are so cute! I hear you about moving. It took us forever to get all unpacked. We should have employed more helpers for sure!
ReplyDeleteAren't walking babies the cutest? Jackson has been walking for about a month now, and just this weekend he figured out how to stand up without pulling up on furniture first. He also figured out how to climb onto the couch and fireplace and into one of his toy baskets! I can't believe these little boys are getting so big!
