One of my favorite pictures taken at Fisherman's Wharf with downtown San Francisco behind us.It seems like when I let too much time pass that I do not even want to attempt to write about what has been going on. I will try though!!!
Our vacation was amazing. I mean really who knew California was so beautiful??? I loved every second of it. Disneyland was so much fun. Matt and I felt like we were 12. Since he won that part of our trip we were treated like royalty. Seriously. It was spectacular. Didn't spend a dime and just had fun. The highlight of Disneyland was on Friday night. They shut down the Disneyland park for all the winners of the Wells Fargo trip from 9pm-2am. So pretty much that whole night Matt and I rode rides until we thought we were going to puke. We rode the Tower of Terror over and over and over again. So many times that once it was over the guy in charge of the ride would just let us stay seated. Then the roller coasters were just beyond fun. I have never experienced an amusement park so empty with NO LINES! We would just walk up to the front of the line and get on. And to make it better they had the Disney characters out and about for us to see, oh and dessert was served at the park too. It was by far one of the funnest nights ever. And I have to say that I am one lucky girl because I have the funnest husband there is.
Sunday we left early that morning and went to LAGUNA BEACH! Ok, yes, I know that is totally what a 12 year old girl would want to do, but I loved it. It really was so beautiful. We just stayed a few hours. We walked the beach and had coffee. LOVED IT! Then we were off on a 7 hour drive in a CONVERTIBLE to San Francisco. It was fun being in the convertible listening to music and driving thru CA. When we got to San Francisco we immediately wanted to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge in our convertible cause I wanted to take pictures. So fun. I absolutely LOVED San Francisco. I would go again and again and again. The weather was so nice 50s-70s. Matt had meetings during the day so I just played the whole time. I shopped until I could not walk anymore. The shopping was great. There was an area called Union Square and it reminded me of New Yorks 5th avenue. Just store after store. I also loved Fisherman's Wharf. It had tons of neat tourist shops there, and shopping by the water is just fun in itself. I made a friend there too. One of Matt's co-workers wife was there. I was super against meeting and hanging out with anyone until I met her and we hit it off immediately. We had so much in common, laughed a lot, and had fun seeing the sights together. Matt and her husband became friends too, so we ate dinner with them a few times. One night we went and at dessert at cheesecake factory and all 4 of us ordered a different kind of cheesecake and would take a bite then pass it to our right. Y U M M Y!!! A great way to try different cheesecake right??? I did Alcatraz one day. It was sooooo neat. I was so glad I did it. Then another day I went on a 9 hour tour of the wine country with a small group of people. I went to the Napa and Sanoma Valley. Absolutely like a dream. It was breath taking. A place I want to return for sure. I feel very educated about wine now. :) Poor Matt did not get to go on my excursions with me, but he would get off between 4-5 and we'd go out until late. We had so much fun at night. We ate seafood every day. Delicious. Overall, it was one of the best get-aways ever. I enjoyed the time to myself and I especially enjoyed the time with Matt. We were anxious to get home to Hudson.
Once we got home Karen (matts mom) and Hudson were already at our house. Hudson came straight to us so happy. I love how he is so good when we are away with his grandparents, but you can tell by his face that he was happy to have us back. And we were too!!! We played hard that weekend then Sunday Hud, Karen and I left for Memphis, Tn. Matt has family that lives there, so off we were. Hudson did great in the car going and coming. 8 hours with few stops...I was very impressed. We had a good time there spending with the family. I got to see my good friend Ellen too, so that made the trip even better. I love my friends! We left there on Thursday and came home to one happy daddy/hub. He was so ready for us to be home.
Last weekend was so fun too. We went to the zoo. Hudson is obsessed with animals and their noises. He LOVES the zoo. You can just see those wheels turning in his little brain as he watches them. We rode the train and carousel. Hudson has had some kind of bug lately so I kept him in Sunday while Matt tried a new church. Matt was excited about it, so hopefully I'll get to go this weekend with Hudson. If any of you have any Ft. Worth church suggestions, I'd love to hear! We loved Farmers Branch so much. That was the hardest part of our move was leaving there, so we are on the lookout for something comparable to it, and Matt thinks he found it! We'll see!
So thats it. Our life in a nutshell these last few weeks. It has been so fun. And finally my house feels like home. After being away for a few weeks coming home felt great. I'll post pictures of the trip soon. It's hard because I only took 280 pictures. HA! Stay tuned!!!!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time- you so deserved it! Post pictures soon!! San Fran is one of my favorite places in the world- glad you got to experience it!
