A week in review...

We had a great week!!! So good that I am going to do a little recap!

  • Monday, Mini came in town. Hudson was thrilled. We went to dinner with her then Matt and I went to the MOVIE!! We saw The Holiday. It was GREAT. A movie that I will own once it comes out on DVD. Each actor was great, story line was so cute, and you left the movie happy. A movie I recommend to everyone!! Matt liked it too, so girls take your hubs along with you!!!
  • Tues. was the doctors apt. It was sooo good. We just keep looking at the sweet sonogram picture. After we went to the doctor Mini, Hudson, and I went to the zoo. It was a perfect day for the zoo. The weather was so nice, and the animals were out and about. We had so much fun.
  • Wednesday we all went down town to meet Matt for lunch. We went to La Madeleine (yummy) and we were so happy to get to see daddy in the middle of our day!!! That evening was Matt's work Christmas party. We drove to Plano and ate at 3 Forks. AMAZING!! If you haven't been there.....GO! It was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I loved meeting all of Matt's new co-workers. I haven't met any of them since he changed positions in July. It was great to have a face with the name now. The dinner was a 5 course meal. Absolutely delicious.
  • Thursday Mini went home. We were so happy to have her. She was such a HUGE help with Hudson and around the house. Thanks for all your help and babysitting Mini!!! I had Hudson's 16X20 picture framed. It is beautiful. I am so so so proud of it. I could just sit and stare at it for hours. I love it! Here is the picture that I chose, and here it is hung in my hallway. Let me tell you why I chose this picture. Besides him looking angelic as he is reading his book, I love the fact he is looking at his monkey book. At the time I was so sad that I forgot to bring a "pretty" book for him to look at in the pictures, but now I would not have it any other way. Hudson LOVES monkeys, and we have read that book hundreds of times. I love that that book is in the picture. Another reason (I'm not sure if you can tell) is that in the big picture you can see his sweet dimples in his knuckles. I kiss those dimples all the time. That picture just captured so so so much of who he is. It's priceless!

  • Friday we went down town Ft. Worth to see Santa. It was so fun. Santa is set up right in the middle of down town. He is outside in this big sleigh. And it is cheap. I only paid 5 dollars and I could take my own pictures. Hudson liked Santa and did not cry at all. YAY! There was a group of high school kids singing Christmas songs. It was a perfect evening. Then we went and met our friends Adam and Leslie for pizza. It was such a fun time!
  • Saturday we hung around the house all day. Matt raked leaves for HOURS (and it's so sad because after all his hard work, tons more leaves came to our yard over night). We also watched The Devil Wears Prada. LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I had never seen it. It's such a cute movie. Again, Matt liked it too!
  • Sunday we went to early service at RHCC. We love that church more and more each week! Hudson was dressed in his adorable Christmas outfit. I'm sorry, but I love dressing him like a little preppy boy in the knee socks and saddle oxfords. He looks just precious. I could just eat him up.

This week Matt only works Monday and Tuesday. Then he is off Wednesday thru Tuesday the 2nd! YAY for us!!!! I am soooo excited to have him home for such a long time. We are headed to Tyler on Friday for Christmas. It's going to be wonderful. My mom knows how to do Christmas. The decorations, the food, the music, the smells in her house, and family.....it's just how Christmas should be. I love it!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Oh my goodness! These pictures are so darn cute!! And... I LOVE the way that you dress Hudson! Sounds like you guys had a super-fun week. I've never been to 3 Forks before, but it's my parent's FAVORITE restaurant!

  2. It sounds like you had a perfect week. That picture is amazing!! He is beyond cute. You are such a sweet mom. I love the kissing the knuckle dimples. Such a mom thing. AND I love his clothes. I didn't have anything like that for Jude and now he is a little too old I think.

I bet you are SO looking forward to getting to spend some major family time with Matt being off for so long. Ya'll have fun and be careful driving home. I love ya'll!! Merry Christmas!!

    Hey Allison,
You have the cutest boy in the world. I ran across your blog the other day reading someone elses. It was good to see your cute xmas pictures. We just moved to Keller in June--that is weird that there are so many people that live here.

  8. Great to hear from you Allison! We have had a wonderful time in Texas...I am dreading going back to NJ! Knitting is not that hard actually...it just takes awhile to learn how to get the tension in the yarn right. You should learn! You could make baby blankets galore!
