A GREAT 2ND DAY!

Today was easier. They have a really neat set-up at this school. You never have to get out of your car to drop off your child or pick them up. You have this thing you put on your dashboard with your child's name on it, and you drive thru the breeze way of the church. The teachers come out and pick up your child, or put them back into their car seat. That makes it REALLY easy for me so I don't have to lug Harper around. We got there a little bit earlier this morning, so I let Hudson climb up into the front seat with me while we waited on the teachers to come and get him. We chatted about the day he had to look forward to. He was all smiles and excited to go and play with the toy school bus (that school bus is all he has talked about). My child loves ANY and ALL sorts of transportation that is out there. I teared up as I passed him over to the teacher, but once I saw him hopping up those stairs with no hesitation....I felt good about him going. I was busy busy busy all morning. 2:00 came so fast. I really got a lot done. Next Monday he is off for Fall Break, so we only have school on Wednesday. I really wanted a one day a week school for him, but now that I see how much fun he is having I am ok with 2 days. I found out there is a little boy in his class that is just 2 days younger than Hudson. I heard they are good pals!

So that's it....I survived the first week. I am so relieved it turned out great. I knew Hudson would love it and be ok, but it was ME that I was worried about. I am enjoying my one-on-one time with Harper too. It's nice to have a moment where she is all I have to focus on. She deserves that. Thanks for all your "you can do it" encouraging comments!!

Oh, and HOW CUTE is he??? I'm not sure if I know of a cuter 2 year old little boy!!! ;)

  4. OK, what??? I have NEVER heard of a program like this where you never have to leave your car??? That is the most awesome thing I have heard in a long time. So are their 2 teachers or what do the other kids do while the teacher is going back and forth from getting/taking the children from the car?? I am SO going to tell everyone at MY Mother's Day Out about this tomorrow. That is such a great set up.

It is amazing how fast kids adjust to things, isn't it? IT is my experience that kids who go to school 2 days a week do MUCH better than children who only go once a week. So I am SO glad that he is going 2 days and LOVING it. He is just precious Allison. Really. I wished we lived closer so that him and Jude could hang out. AND more importantly - we could too. :) Love ya!!

    Are ya'll coming to Homecoming?

  5. I am SO glad that Hudson likes school and is having a great experience! That is awesome that you don't have to get out of the car to drop him off, especially with Harper!

After Jackson's experience with preschool and our week away from preschool, I just withdrew him. I feel like he has a lot of time to go to school, so why make it a bad experience? I wish we lived closer to you, so Jackson could go to school with Hudson!

And keep us updated on the potty-training. I am dreading that whole process even though I think Jackson is ready. We are waiting till after the holidays.

  7. Yay for a good week! I knew Huddy would do well, but I am glad you are doing good too. You know who better not find out where you are taking Hud, or that may be more incentive for her to make you her BFF:) Read my blog to find what kind of week I am having:(
