Hello from San Antonio!!

HI Blog Buddies!! Where to even begin?? I guess I'll start from the beginning of last week. Monday the 18th we got up, had breakfast and said our goodbyes to the Wolfe family. We headed back to our old neighborhood because we left Matt's truck with one of our sweet neighbors while we were in OK for the weekend. We saw that our house already had a new family living in it. It was weird seeing it with other people's things in it. And extra weird that it was ours just days before and now we could not go in it.

So Matt had Harper and I had Hudman and we were off. The drive from FW to SA isn't really that bad. The kids were beyond good. Hudson and I had a great time singing all kinds of songs. He also watched plenty of DVD's to keep him occupied. Matt and Harper had fun too. She was actually a really good traveler as well. We stopped a few times to let Hud go potty. At times I wanted to be like, "Hudson, just go in your pull-up." BUT I figured that would defeat the purpose of teaching him to stay dry. We stopped outside of Austin and had lunch at Cracker Barrel, and in no time we were in SA. Right outside of SA both kids fell asleep for a good nap, so Matt and I just drove around our new area for quite a while so they would keep on sleeping. We went to our new house to see it, and Hudson was sooo soo cute. It was probably one of the sweetest moments that I want to remember. We came in our new house, and Hudson's eyes were HUGE. He was so excited that he started running around everywhere. He kept running up to Harper saying, "We're here, Harper, we are IN San Antonio." It wasn't until we drove off later that we figured out that he thinks our house is ACTUALLY San Antonio. Whenever we leave to run an errand or do something he'll tell me that he wants to go back to San Antonio. So anyways, we just sat in our empty house, let Harper roll around all over the floor, and let Hud run around like crazy. I mean really, how many opportunities do you actually have to run like crazy in your own home. Never....so we let him wear himself out. He loved seeing his new room and seeing his "big park" in the backyard. He also calls the steps off the deck in the back "Hudson's stairs", and if you go outside he wants you to look at Hudson's new stairs. He was just so cute and so funny that evening in our empty house.

We headed to our hotel room, ordered pizza and the 4 of us were out really early. Tuesday morning was the big move in day and we met the movers at our house at 9 am. The guys were finished by 2, so it really wasn't too bad. Matt's mom got here that afternoon and I have to say that it was sooooo good having her here. She stayed until Monday. She was THE BIGGEST HELP ever. She helped us unpack, entertained the kids while we unpacked, painted the kids bathroom, bought us plenty of meals, and even babysat one night so Matt and I could go on a date together. I know we could not have done it without her help, and we are forever grateful.

Our house, I'd say, is probably 85% complete. Everyday those small projects just add up. We LOVE our house, and especially LOVE our neighborhood. So many of our neighbors have welcomed us, and brought us things. My favorite part is that there are so many families here. I love at night people being outside while their kids ride their bike, or go for walks. It's so fun being outside and seeing so many kids playing. I just love it. I'd have to say that after being here almost 2 weeks I haven't missed our old house once. We really do love being here already. My opinion is that San Antonio is the very best of both Dallas and Fort Worth. It does not feel near as big as Dallas does, but has every bit of the shopping and restaurants that Dallas has. So we have our "smaller" town feel that FW offered with all the wonderful things we missed so much about Dallas. With the added perks of Sea World, the SA Zoo, Fiesta Texas, the Riverwalk, and of course we MUST remember the Alamo! I can already tell that we are going to love it here.

We are excited to try a new church this weekend. We are soo very ready to get plugged in and meet some people b/c we don't know a single person here. And what better way to make friends than church, right?

We get more and more settled with each passing day. I am learning my way around slowly, and I have a new deeper love for my trusty ol' Garmin GPS System. Matt's parents got it for us for Christmas and I can't live without it. It's really like a cell phone...you cannot imagine your life without it now that you have it. I am so glad it is the weekend and we can get more things accomplished around here.

OH, and I nearly forgot to give a little Harper update. Our sweet girl started crawling this week. She is one busy girl and is getting into all of brother's toys. We have yet to put up baby gates so that is a must for the weekend. She also got a new top tooth this week as well. I can't believe how fast time is flying by with these 2. I can't even believe that in 4 short months we'll be celebrating Harper's 1st birthday, and Hudson's 3rd! Slow down time!!!

I have a cute video of Harper and several pictures of the kids over these last 2 weeks. BUT you'll have to wait until our good ol' computer cord shows up. It's gotta be around here somewhere!!!
