Funny Hud Story...

Last night the 4 of us went to Super Target to get groceries. It was one of those BIG shopping trips, so Matt and I split the list up. He shopped with Harper, and I took off with Hudson. After spending WAYYY too long shopping, we hurried home to unpack the car, feed the kids, and get them to B-E-D!!

Hudson wanted to play in the front yard while Matt unloaded the car. I was inside feeding Harper dinner.

A few moments later I hear Hud "fake crying" and Matt bringing him inside. I look over and see Matt bent down in front of Hudson to talk to him. Here is the funny conversation that I over heard.

Hudson-"Daddy, I want to play outside in the front yard."

Daddy-"Hudson, you can play outside but you HAVE to stay in the front yard. You cannot run off. If you run off you will get a spanking this time...do you hear me?" "Now, what will happen if you run off, Hudson?" {I could tell from Matt's voice that he was being very serious, and that he was frustrated with Hudson...my guess is that Hud probably just got finished running to the neighbors yard while Matt had his hands full with the groceries.}

*** A LONG PAUSE WHILE HUD IS THINKING ABOUT HIS ANSWER TO DADDY'S QUESTION.***

Hudson (in a very serious tone)-"Once upon a time there was a little boy named Hudson and he ran away to the woods. And his mommy and daddy came after him and gave him a BIG spanking."

I just burst out laughing because: 1). He gave his answer in the form of a story. 2). I could tell that Matt was being serious with him, and Hudson seemed very serious when he responded. 3). At least he knew that if he ran off he'd get a spanking. Not too sure where those woods are he is talking about though!!

Oh, he can be such a stinker and such a toot, but can he ever make me laugh!!!
