Happy 1st Birthday Harper!!!

These 2 pictures I will treasure forever. They represent that moment in your life that you never want to forget. The first one was in the first moments that Hudson met Harper. No one told him to love on her like that. It was one of the most precious moments of my life. The 2nd picture was when we were about to take his new baby sister home. He was so excited, and so proud.





Oh my goodness, I can't believe my baby girl is a year old today!!!! In a way I feel as though I have blinked and we are here celebrating her first birthday, but in another way I feel as though she has been apart of us for so much longer. Words cannot express the joy she has brought to our lives. I can remember a year ago wondering what it would be like having 2 children just 2 years apart and asking myself all sorts of questions. Can I handle 2? Is there enough of me for the both of them? Can I love another as deeply as I love Hudson?...just to name a few. THEN she was handed to me and I fell so head over heels in love, and I fall deeper in love daily. All my questions and doubt went away, and I felt so assured that I could do it. YES oh YES do I have my moments {all the time} of feeling my hands being full, but never do I let a day pass where I don't stop and be thankful for these 2 precious babies. I feel so privileged and so proud to be their mother. They are the sunshine in my life.

Harper has always been a wonderful baby. She has been so easy from the beginning. Anyone who knows Harper can vouch for this one!! (she had better be good after what I went thru to get her here, right??) I cannot even write about one struggle with her {I had better knock on wood, shouldn't I??} because she really has been that easy. She is so happy. She will go to anyone. Once she started smiling she never stopped. Her laugh is contagious. She adores her big brother {and he is pretty crazy about her too}. She's a great sleeper. A good eater. She is my girly girl who will cuddle all day long. {Yes, I am a girly mommy who LOVES dressing her}. Just like Hudson is everything I could have ever dreamed of in a little boy, Harper is the same. I am crazy about those sloppy wet kisses, and the way she squeals with delight.

Some things about Harper that I want to document about her at 12 months are: her favorite words are ACCCCE {our dog}, ah oh, babeee, mama, dada, ba ba {bottle}. She pretends to talk on the phone-it's sooo cute, she drinks regular milk in a sippy cup {YAY}, she takes steps often but has not taken off fully yet, she can elephant crawl faster than I can catch her, she twirls her hair when I rock her before bed, when she hears music she dances, she claps with delight, she has 8 teeth and is working on more as we speak, she has a head full of the sweetest curls, her toes are always painted, Hudson can make her laugh better than anyone, she sleeps with several blankets and snuggles them under her tummy and chin, Harper LOVES her daddy, but she sure does love her mommy too! She is also one of those babies that loves to be held....I love that!!

I feel like days turn into weeks WAY too fast around here. I do my best to soak up every bit of the 2 of them that I can. I know in a moments time they will both be in school. So those days when I am exhausted and stretched to the max, I need to remember that "this too shall pass" and later I'll be wishing for just one more day.

Happy First Birthday to the sweetest little angel we know!!! Harper, we love you so much and are so thankful that you are ours!!! Love, Daddy, Mommy, and Huddy
