Thanksgiving in Oklahoma

Thanksgiving 2009 was wonderful!! This was my 7th Thanksgiving spent with the Mullins/Cupps clan and it was probably my favorite so far. We left last Sunday morning at 5 and headed to Norman, Ok. It was nice to get there a little bit early before the masses arrived on Tuesday. A highlight FOR SURE was seeing NEW MOON again on Monday night with Karen and Melissa. I loved it even more the 2nd time around!!

Monday Matt's grandparents on his dads side came to Norman to see us and the kids. It is always so good to see them and special that Hudson and Harper get to be with their great-grandparents. We enjoyed our day with them. I thought we captured some pretty great pictures too!!

I love this one too!

On Tuesday the rest of the crew joined us. There were a total of 22 people staying together at Matt's parents house. Karen was the excellent hostess as always. She goes way beyond the call of duty. She rolls out the red carpet and makes everything she does seem effortless.

Lauren brought one of her roommates home for Thanksgiving, Emi, and it was a joy having her there with us.

Here are our little luvs all ready to go to bed. Aren't they precious??

Just for fun...here they are last year! They have grown soo much!!!

Sweet Lala playing "Sea World" with Harper.

Melissa had to leave on Wednesday to go back to Plano and deliver Thanksgiving babies. We were happy to have her the few days we did. It just wasn't the same when she left. Lauren's fiance', Tyson, joined us for a day which was wonderful. We cannot wait until they get married in June!!!
Here is a runner up family picture for The Mullins family Christmas card. It was good having Tyson in the picture too!!

Wednesday was my 29th birthday. It was a great day!! I enjoyed being with everyone and had a great time celebrating ME! HA!! I can't believe this is my last year in my 20's!!! It's wild how fast time flies!!! Wednesday night we let the kids open up their Christmas presents. We celebrate Christmas early with the Cupps family. Of course the kids LOVE it!! It was fun watching them get all excited. Makes me even more ready for Christmas.
Real men play barbies!! :)

My cake said "forever 29"...loved that! I also love my little helpers too!!

Bath time in Mini's tub!

I love this picture of Harper and Reese.
Wednesday night Matt, myself, April, Jay, Chris, and Angie all went to Cheddars for dinner. It was so nice leaving the kids behind and letting their grandparents bathe them and put them to bed. What a treat! We had a great time that night laughing and goofing off. It was one of my favorite parts of the week.
We loaded the up in our car, took the car seats out, and fit perfectly! It was a fun car ride!

I bought these shirts for the cousins. I thought they turned out so cute. They are numbered in their birth order and they say "cuz" with their names on it. I love all things personalized!! :)

Here is our one attempt at a family picture. The kids just weren't feeling it.

The Cupps family!!!

Papa and his grands!
We had the best week!! It was so good seeing everyone and catching up. The kids were excellent. We had 5 kids 4 and under, and 4 dogs....it seemed intimidating before we went, but really, it could not have been a better week. We spent the week talking, laughing, playing games, eating WAAY too much food, watching movies, playing the Wii....couldn't have been any better! After Thanksgiving and going around saying what we were all thankful for, it made me so proud to be a part of such a neat group of people. They really feel like my family and not 'in-laws'. I am thankful and blessed!!

On our drive home....Oh Ace, he just wanted to look out the window. Harper liked it!!

We weren't home 30 minutes before Huddy got all dressed in his Dr. Mullins scrubs. He wanted scrubs like his Papa....I think he makes a handsome Doctor!!

  1. What a FUN Thanksgiving/Birthday/early Christmas!!! Harper is looking like such a big girl! It just hit me in this post that she looks like a big kid, not a baby or toddler anymore. I love that Jack the elf is back and can't wait to hear stories. Hope you have a wonderful week!
