We enjoyed our weekend. Friday night we had 3 families over for fajitas and we enjoyed their company so much. The kids played outside waaaay past dark. It was wonderful.
Saturday we spent just lazing around the house, and the kids playing outside. We can't get enough of this beautiful weather.
Yesterday we dyed Easter eggs which is always so much fun. I really do love doing it each year. They both really got into it. Later in the afternoon I was inside working on my Beth Moore homework while Matt was doing yard work and the kids were playing in the culdesac. Matt opens the door and yells to me to grab my camera and come outside. I was glad he did because it was just one of those moments that you do want to capture. Hud was in head to toe cowboy gear, and Harper...well, Harper was being Harper. After a while of taking pictures of them, I went and sat on the porch step and was watching the kids. I was just overcome with emotion of how special these little moments are. You get told all the time by people to 'soak it up, it goes so fast...etc." It does...I still cannot believe I will be celebrating their 3rd and 5th birthdays this summer. It aches me and thrills me at the very same time. Aches me because, my goodness, they are just getting SO BIG!! Thrills me because, I do love every-single-little-precious-moment, and watching them grow is the joy of my heart.
This weekend (yes EASTER WEEKEND...totally an accident)...I am flying to Atlanta, Georgia and meeting up with 3 of my dearest college friends. We are then driving to Ellijay, Ga and staying at the Martyn House where we will be "glamping," or better known as glamorized camping. It looks fantasitc and I can hardly wait. So my love and kindest man there ever was, Matthew Mullins, will be holding down the fort and playing Mr. Mom for the weekend. I know they are going to have a great time. He was actually happy when we discovered our girls weekend fell on Easter weekend because he does not have to take a personal day on Friday. I don't know where our heads were when we were booking this trip earlier in the year. There are 4 of us and 2 of us are moms. I get back in town about 4:30 on Sunday, so the plan is that when I get home the Easter bunny will have come while they picked me up at the airport....so this mommy won't be missin' out on too much! :)
Here is our weekend in pictures. I think they are too adorable for words. We finally got Hud's haircut. I never posted a blog picture...I did on facebook, but Hud got Matt's electric razor and buzzed several bald spots throughout his head. So we had to let his hair grow out for several weeks and let these 'bald' spots get some hair. Thankfully, this boy's hair grows FAST!! We told him if he EVER cuts his hair or ANYONES (harper's) hair EVER again, we will shave his head. He 100% does not want that to happen, and says he will never EVER do it again...I actually believe him. The same rule does not apply to Harp. We would never shave her head. HA!
Ok...pictures.....
Easter Eggs!!! Harper had glittery Tinker Bell eggs, and Hudson had Star Wars.
The Cowboy and his cargo. TO CUTE FOR WORDS!!!
Sweet pictures! Every emotion that you described I have had too. Especially that feeling of over whelming joy while watching your kids. (just typing this I have tears).
ReplyDeleteWe have had quite a few late nights with very dirty nails too :)

I always enjoy your "sweet words" and of course, our "sweet babies" who are growing up...way too fast! I miss those times with my kids but are enjoying them again through my precious grandkids.

With much love from Mini
Our daughter love dinosaurs too. Cars and trains were her everything until just recently. Your spring weekend sounds great.
ReplyDeletePrecious, precious, precious!!! I'm right there with you, I can't believe they are so big. Every age is different and fun! Have fun on your girls trip! I'm so glad you will not be missing the Easter Bunny!
ReplyDeletelove this time of year! sweet pics of your sweet kiddos!
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Hudson in a cowboy hat looks straight out of a magazine. You kids are so cute! Looks like your spring is off to a good start!
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet pictures. The kids are growing up soooo fast, you are so right! Hudson reminds me so much of Jake in some of the pictures. They have some of the same facial characteristics I think. Anyhow, glad yall are well, and looking forward to more blogs! (hint hint!) ;) Have a great Easter with your sweet family!
