Our Colorado Getaway...

Saturday morning at 12:30 am we got home after spending 9 days away in Colorado.  Matt's youngest sister, Lauren, finally married her high school sweetheart, Tyson, of 7 years.  I have known Tyson just about as long as I have been in the Mullins family.  He is one of the sweetest, kindest guys there is, and we were thrilled to have him {again, finally} officially join the family!  Tyson and Lauren chose to get married in Crested Butte, Colorado.  It was a very small and very intimate wedding.  In fact Lauren's siblings and close college friends were her only attendants.  Tyson had a good turn out of both family and friends...total I think it was about 45 people.  It was beautiful and just perfect.  The entire weekend from start to finish could not have been more fun!  Friday night before the wedding Tyson's family hosted a cookout which was a blast.  Hudson was in full cowboy gear which was too precious for words.
Tyson, Matt, Brandon, and Hud
Cowboy Hud!
Brandon and Hud.  (Brandon is Melissa's (matt's middle sister) special friend of 2 years).  Hud loves him...most everyone does too. I have not made my final decision about him yet.  I still have a few more questions for him.  :)  (I know he reads my blog, so I have to give him a hard time).
Harper hamming it up for the camera.  This was on one of the condo's patios.  I am not going to lie...I sure could have spent 2 weeks there!!  :)

The wedding day was beyond perfect.  Hudson and Harper were too adorable for words.  Tyson and Lauren were glowing!  My actual wedding day pictures from the wedding day are few and far between because we were busy doing the actual wedding, but I am certain that there will be plenty to choose from later on!
Lauren and handsome Hud.
Lauren was stunning!  She wore cowboy boots too which was perfect for a Colorado wedding.
This one is worth blowing up HUGE because I think it is beautiful.  Doesn't the background look fake???  The kids, I have said it 100 times, were beyond precious.  Harper's dress, boots, and bow was almost too much to handle when it comes to cuteness.
Little poser!
The kids with their mini and papa.

The actual ceremony was so beautiful.  Everyone just gathered around in a circle on this mountain top as they became husband and wife.  Lauren's daddy preformed the ceremony which was so sweet and tender.  Both parents shared stories about Tyson and Lauren growing up, Lauren and Tyson both shared stories about how they came to be, they wrote their own vows, and Matt closed with a prayer.  It was a family ceremony that was so sweet!!

Sunday morning we (Curtis, Karen, Melissa, Brandon, and the 4 of us) loaded up and left our beautiful 5 star take-your-breath-away condo, and headed up to Gunnison to camp the rest of the week.  Matt (and his family) grew up camping every summer.  I knew about it as long as I have known Matt....so this was BIG.  Me joining in on the Mullins' camping trip was a FIRST for me.  You have to know something about me...I did not grow up camping...At all.  It is not my thing.  I glamp not camp!  :)  I am very much a hotel snob and I am not ashamed to admit that, so 'roughing' it was an experience for me.  A week was long enough for me to be honest, but I did enjoy myself.  It still blows my mind that they can go for 2 to 3 weeks.  Karen is superwoman!

It was a definite experience.  We all had a great time.  Hudson and Harper were so good and just ate it up.  I loved seeing them run and play and be outside.  There were no movies and tv, and not once did they ask for it.
Matt and Brandon kayaking.  It was so beautiful!
The boys fly fishing.
I loved watching Matt fly fish.  He was a total stud out there.  :)
There's Curtis next to the big rock.  He is definitely in his paradise out there!
My man....

even I gave it a try!
The kids with Papa and their first fish!
some more kayaking fun!
3 Mullins Men
This was my FAVORITE spot while camping.  I could have laid in the hammock all day long.
I got some good snuggle time too!

Hud and Ace....yup we brought our dog!  Ace loved the great outdoors!
The morning campfire with the kiddos.

Karen and Curtis have a trailer that they bring up to CO, so I did sleep in a bed each night.  There was electricity and running water.  I did get 2 showers that week too!  :)  The boys slept in a tent most nights.  Hudson loved it.  We cooked out most every night, and had a campfire.  Most nights we were all so tired that by sundown we were ready for bed.

One of my favorite afternoons was the day we took the kids horseback riding.  They each really loved it.  Again, Hud dressed up as a Cowboy which totally fit the part.  He was in his element.
Might be a framer!
Harper's turn!
This one might be a framer too!
A natural cowboy!!
Harper was taught by Tyson's sister, Annie, how to make a wish with these flowers.
My family...

We had a great time in Colorado.  It was just so beautiful there.  I especially loved the mountain air and how peaceful it was.  It was a joy to be a part of such a beautiful wedding, and then spend a week away from the real world.  I loved getting to see where the Mullins fam spent so many summers, and now when they go back I can picture exactly where they are and what they are doing.  We made the 18 hour drive home in one day.  Talk about a beating, but as always it is so good to be home again.

I have  a few more pictures (if you can believe it) to share this week that are a true treasure!!  Hopefully I can muster up the energy to sit at the computer again!!!

It is good to be home!!
