1st day of Kindergarten

This morning I was wide awake at 5--finally got out of bed around 5:30.  I knew it was a BIG day.  I woke Hudson up about 6:15.  I opened his blinds and he looked out his window and said, "It's the middle of the night?  This is how early I have to wake up for Kindergarten??"  HA!  I am sure most mornings he'll get to sleep a good 30 minutes longer.  I fixed him a big breakfast of breakfast tacos and chocolate milk.  Harper and Holton woke up a little later.  I got everyone dressed with time to take a few pictures.  It was a good morning and went really smooth.

We got to Hudson's school about 7:20.  (on a normal school day he has to be there by 7:30).  We took a few more pictures outside of the school.  He was cool as a cucumber, so confident, and very excited.  I was so proud of him and knew it was going to be a great day!

Once we got inside we found his cubby #14.  Hung up his backpack and put his lunchbox where it was supposed to go.  We found his table.  He was sitting by a cute little girl named Lindsay and boy named Conner.  The class was SO QUIET---I'm sure not for long.  His teacher was cute as ever and so sweet.  She seemed very happy and ready for the day.  We snapped a few more pictures.  He was extra sweet and let us sappy parents get a few extra hugs and kisses.  He did not seem the least bit nervous.  I told him I'd pick him up after school, gave him one more look and he was ALL smiles.

The walk to the car was tough.  The tears came once we sat down and drove home.  I am SO excited for him today.  I know it's going to be wonderful.  It did my heart good to see that smiling boy all ready for Kindergarten.  He walked in that classroom so confident and so ready.  I CANNOT wait to pick him up later on.  We'll go grab a drink at Sonic and I am going to pick that Kindergarten brain to get all the details of the day.  I'll be sure to report later on how my big guys 1st day of school was!
