Holton at 8 months

What a BIG month we have had.  Going from 7 to 8 months was full of change, change, change.  My baby boy grew leaps and bounds over night.  It seems Holton learns something new everyday.

Here are the highlights of month 7.

  • Holton crawling is the biggest event of the month.  It was really like he rocked on his knees one day and the next day he took off.  I could not believe how fast he started.  I think big brother and sister were great teachers!

Holton with his 2 biggest fans the night he took off crawling.

  •  Crawling brings a new freedom to our little explorer.  He sure loves to find Ace and Ace's dog food.  Thankfully we have good helpers that let out a BIG "MOM HOLTON HAS ACE'S FOOD AGAIN!"  Hudson and Harper are good Holton police!

isn't this the sweetest picture?

look at that face!!  Who could tell that face no no?  I'd better learn how, and fast!  HA

  • Holton began sitting in the cart while we grocery shop.  Harper loves having Holton right beside her.  She is super sweet with him and keeps him pretty well entertained while we knock out our grocery list.  He loves looking around and smiling at the people who pass us by.

  • During this month we have developed a good feeding routine for Holton.  We finally dusted off the old trusty highchair that was in the attic for a few years.  Got it all cleaned up and ready for baby #3.  One thing is for sure, Holton LOVES his baby food.  He squeals with delight when it is time to eat.  We actually haven't found a food he doesn't like.  Hopefully this child will be our good eater??!!  (Hudson and Harper are not fans of most things green).  It has also been bottle bootcamp at the Mullins' household.  I have been on a mission to get this child to take a bottle.  Thankfully, this past weekend, I think we have rounded the corner.  He has submitted to the fact that bottles are a good thing.  I am working on weaning him (not completely).  Matt and I have a vacation planned at the end of October, so I am bound and determined to have him on a bottle and good schedule by then.  So far I think we are on the right track!

  •  Holton can go from lying down to a sitting position.  He is quite proud of that little trick of his.
  •  Holton PULLS UP & STANDS!  My goodness, it was seriously crawling one day and pulling up the next.  He is in one big hurry to learn new things!  We had to lower his bed to the lowest setting due to our strong boy...I know I will blink my eyes and he is lifting that leg all ready to climb on out of his crib.

  •  Words cannot express the joy Holton brings to our lives.  We are crazy about this little guy.  He is SO much fun right now exploring and taking in this world around him.  It is fascinating watching a baby grow and learn so much and so quickly.  Right now he is working on his two top teeth.  Those gums are soo swollen and so sore.  I keep looking every morning knowing they must have broken through during the night.  He is waking up at night with his little fingers in his mouth just moaning the saddest little sound.  I am sure by next month we'll have us a cute little chiclet grin on our growing boy!
We could not possibly love this baby boy any more than we do right now.  He still proves to be the most laid back child, so happy, so go with the flow...just pure delight.  I put him to bed excited to see what our next day will hold with our little sponge.  I am so thankful for these past 8 months.  Now if only time could slow down just a wee bit...

Mommy loves you Holty Bolty!!

Oh...how sweet...our Holton is growing up too fast. Enjoy every minute because you know how fast it goes by! His smile just lights up the room! I'm so glad he is finally liking the bottle. Papa and Mini can't wait to babysit for him in October...and of course his cute big brother and big sister.
    We love you! M & P
