Friday around lunch time we grabbed Hudson early from school and left for Tyler to celebrate Holty there with my family. We had such a fun time. The weather was so nice, so the kids had plenty of time to play outside and explore. (which is their favorite thing to do).

We had just a small family gathering which was perfect. Even my sweet grandmother made a surprise appearance. What a treat. (She just had surgery because of a hernia, so I did not even consider it a possibility getting to see her this visit).
We had a wonderful lunch that Grammy prepared (sooooo good), had cupcakes and ice-cream, and Holty opened up some really fun presents. After Christmas and now his birthday---the child is set!!
---Holty boy is working on walking. He's pretty cute trying too!
The rest of our time there was spent out doors. The kids played and explored hard---they loved it and had a big time. There are a lot of cool woods, islands, and hidden places to go find. They were in heaven.
Hud loved the binoculars.
Hudson---king of the mountain.
We loaded up at the end of the day in the ATV and went down by the water to feed the ducks. It was such a pretty evening. Holton was worn out---they all were. It was a fun ending to a fun-filled day.
By the end of the time the kid had more fun charging the ducks than feeding them.
We had a wonderful weekend and were so glad we got to go. It sort of made up for our having to cut out a little early over Christmas. The only stinky part of the trip was Camden getting sick while we were there. He caught the 'hand foot and mouth' disease. (it's a virus kind of like chicken pox). Anyways the virus showed up on Saturday after his nap and my sister left with Camden after she realized how sick he was. Needless to say we were all exposed (Holton even got a hold of Camden's sippy cup and drank out of it---yikes!) and I am praying none of my chickens come down with that yucky virus. Poor Camden has had one hard week (Suzanna too). So far we are symptom free. Praying we stay that way! I don't know how we could possibly dodge this bullet, but I am praying hard we do. I don't want it at all here. I went ahead and put in a call to postpone Holton's tubes for Thursday. I just don't feel comfortable with him getting them when there is a possibility of this virus taking over my home any day now. (Evidently this virus lives in an 'incubation' stage before it shows it's ugly self). I hated we did not get to spend more time with Cammy and my sister (Colt was on location for work---we missed him too), and bless his sweet heart I just pray Camden gets better soon!!!

I seriously cannot believe Holton is 1!!! That is just crazy. Cute pictures!! Hope none of the kids get sick. :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, I just LOVE the way you love and enjoy your kids. You encourage and inspire me so much. It is hard to believe Holton is already 1. I remember when you told me you were pregnant with Hudson, and it feels like yesterday! I think time is speeding up! You look so much like your sweet mama - beautiful ladies!
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful time too. It was so good getting to spend time with all of you and Hudson has shown Grammy & Daddy Pops how much fun it is to go exploring. I know we will be doing alot more of that. We are on the look out for indian arrowheads! We are so glad the babies are staying well. We don't like seeing any of them sick. What a fun get together! We love y'all.
ReplyDeleteThose babies are beautiful! You are so blessed!
