Y'all my baby is O-N-E! It's amazing how fast this year went. Blink of an eye. I spent a lot of last week just thinking about the journey we went on with Hayes. Oh how I can remember the pure and utter shock of when I found out I was pregnant. Holton had just turned 1, and it was the kind of shock that your hand is permanently attached to your mouth and you find yourself on your knees without remembering falling to them. I thought about the phone call to Matt when he was out of town telling him that I was pregnant. How the sweet thing was so calm and had every perfect word for me---telling me much later he was pacing the parking lot wiping the sweat dripping off of him. What a journey it was being pregnant with him. I now joke all the time telling people that everyone should have a 4th. That Mr. Hayes' pregnancy and first year was nothing short of pure joy. My pregnancy with him was the easiest of the bunch and he is joy in the flesh. Not for a second could I imagine our life without him. I adore him with every ounce of my being. When I look at him I see God's perfect plan and that this child was needed on this earth. I am so thankful God chose us for him.

Last weekend my mom, sister, and Camden came to visit. We had a very low key weekend celebrating the big birthday boy. My brother and his girlfriend were able to come for Sunday lunch which was a great treat. Friday was Grandparent's Day up at the school, so it was great that Mom was able to go up to the school and be with Hudson and Harper. My sister went too and they had fun taking the kids to the book fair and having lunch with them. I can remember how special it was for anyone to come see you up at school and I love it when Hudson and Harper get visitors.

It is the sweetest thing seeing Holton and Camden become best buddies. Camden LOVES his cousins. I mean he lovessss them. And boy do my kids love him too. We cannot wait to add my NIECE COLLINS to the mix in Feb. Camden is so precious and one of the cutest little boys ever. He is so funny and I love hearing him talk. Holton and Camden played so well together and had such a big time. I pray they are always best friends.

| After
dinner on Saturday we sat out side and let the kids play in the
culdesac. It was such a nice evening and they played and played. |
 |
| Hayes
got a new wagon for his birthday. We wore out the one we had when Huddy was little. Harper took him for a ride round and round.... |
Friday we spent our evening in, let the kids play, and ordered pizza. Saturday was another full day of playing, and then we went to La Cantera for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was a great day. Sunday mom cooked a feast, Paul and Lex came, and we had a small little celebration for Hayes.

| Our little birthday boy at The Cheesecake Factory. He wore this outfit 3 days straight. Too cute not to. |
 |
| Cake time! |
 |
| I picked up an assortment of 'bundtlets' from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Mmmmm. |
 |
| He loved his cake! |
The rest of our Sunday afternoon was filled with letting the kids slip n slide, Hayes swing, and sit outside watching them play. We LOOOVED their visit and were so thankful that we they were able to come. It was such a great weekend.
This picture above was our last picture as a family of 5. We sure didn't know that a few short hours from then our baby boy was going to be with us. We went out for breakfast, went home to rest & I started having a few contractions, told Matt we might should think about going to the hospital, got packed and loaded up, got checked into the hospital and 18 non medicated minutes later Hayes was here. Yet again the sweet boy blessed us with shock and disbelief in his arrival too. :)

| Mommy and daddy love on Hayes' birthday. |

In other blog news--Yes, I plan still setting my blog to private. I feel like it's the right decision to do. I'm sorry to make it more of an inconvenience to read my blog, and I'll be the first to admit that I am terrible about actually going and clicking on blogs that are private. I want to thank those of you who commented and want to continue reading. I have e-mails, fb messages, and comments on here that I need to compile a list of all of the e-mail addresses to set this private. It's high on my to-do list. I appreciate so much the kind e-mails and comments. It means a lot that you like to read this little ole blog of mine. SO hopefully soon I can get it all set up. Be watching for an e-mail. And if you commented and didn't leave your e-mail address, be sure and send it my way! THANKS!!
Happy Birthday, Hayes! What a sweet, sweet gift from God that boy turned out to be. :) No surprise there! He is PRECIOUS!
ReplyDeleteI remember lots of commenters (myself included) saying if ANYONE could have four kids and make it look easy, it would be YOU. And we were right! You are such a great mama, and a blessing to your sweet family. Love you! :)
Allison- I accidentally came across you're blog and have been reading it ever since! I'm a fellow ACU alum, and enjoy all your motherhood adventures. Please add me to your list. melissajoyrodriguez@Yahoo.com
DeleteHappy Birthday to Hayes!!! I really have enjoyed reading about all of the adventures you guys have, and watching your kiddos grow both physically and spiritually! It gives me great hope that I can help my kids to walk with God, and teach them about his word. Please add me to the list of readers who would love to keep on reading, and I totally understand the feeling like you would like to take the blog private. Sean and I have talked about it too, especially since there are times when I would love to post things like photos from his ALS graduation, but choose not to.
ReplyDeleteHope we can get back to San Antonio sometime in the future, after spending time with you all when Sean was at tech school, we have decided that it would be a neat place to live for a few years!

Hi Allison! I'm friends with Leslie Bogle and found your blog through her. I'm ACU alum, also, and I have two boys born 1/10/11 and 8/13/12 so I love hearing about Holton and Hayes! Please add me to your list. suziebrown05@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOh! This post melts my heart. How is Hayes ONE already?!
ReplyDeleteI love his birthday crown, I got the same one for my niece last year....she didn't enjoy wearing it as much as Hayes did though.
Also, thank you for the really sweet comment you left on my blog. I simply can't say how much of an inspiration you and yours are to me :)
