- I officially quit breastfeeding yesterday, and let me just say I am MISERABLE!!! Not miserable in that I am sad to have finished breastfeeding Hudson, but just miserable as I wait for this milk to go away! How long until I feel like me again? I was telling Matt yesterday that the last day that I went without breastfeeding was July 12, 05. Almost 10 months ago!!
- Hudson is doing great with the napping situation. He now takes 2 great naps a day! What a relief that is. He is also doing well with formula and the Nuby sippy cup. Weaning has been a breeze for him. I really thought he would take it a lot harder, but he's just fine being a big boy!
- This weekend is a HUGE HUGE HUGE weekend for me. It will be the first time that I will be away from Hudson. We are meeting Matt's parents on Friday and passing him off for a weekend. I am doing this for several reasons. The one BIG reason is that since I am leaving Hudson with my family when we go to Maui, I just can't let that be my first time away from him. Especially since it will be for 9 days. I want a run through! To be honest I was ok with this idea last week, but now that it is THIS weekend I have a pit in my stomach. I know he will do wonderful and have a wonderful time. I am just worried how I will do. Say a prayer for me! Hudson will get plenty of love! His Mini and Papa are there, his 2 aunts, and his great-grands are all in Wichita Falls. You would think we were sending them a million dollars for the weekend! They are thrilled to have our sweet boy for a whole weekend without us there! :)
- I am looking forward to a weekend alone with my hot hub! The last time we were alone together for a weekend was July 9-11. We plan on going to a lot of movies, going on a nice date, and just being alone together! Even though I am sick at my stomach thinking about handing my child off Friday, I am almost giddy about having Matt all to myself! It'll be fun.
- The count down to Maui has officially begun! We leave 3 weeks from this Sunday! AHHH! I am so stinkin excited! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and I LOVE laying out! And when you put the 2 together it's even better! It'll be a blast! Anyone who has been to Maui...leave a comment of your favorite things to do!
I guess that is about all for now. I'll be sure to post how this weekend went! Really it is a practice weekend to help prepare us for leaving Hudson again at the end of the month! I'll post some new pictures later on! Mr. Blogger doesn't seem to want to let me post pictures right now.
Hey beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE seeing pictures of your sweet family! I hope you have an incredible weekend...trust the folks=) Enjoy the hubby!
Pass me along your email and I'll pass on a shortened version of all we did! :)
ReplyDeleteI will be thinking of you as you work through this sad time. Hudson will be fine, and so will you. Try not to have too much fun with Matt this weekend, Hudson doesn't need another sibling yet:) Here is one positive thing to look forward to, now that you have stopped nursing, your monthly bill will return. Yay for being a woman:) The fun never ends:)
ReplyDeleteJust for your amusement, I never breastfed Jackson but still had to go through the whole "drying up" process. The nurses at the hospital all told me to put raw cabbage leaves in my bra to relieve the pain. I will admit that I tried it and it worked, but it cracked me up the whole time. I am not sure I smelled too pretty either, but I just did it right before shower time, which brings on a whole new set of issues with the "drying up" process...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with leaving Hudson! I am sure that the first time is the hardest, but I still have no experience in this department. I am so jealous of Maui! That is where I went on my honeymoon. It is beautiful! Where are you staying?
Hi!! The cabbage thing really does work! There is an enzyme in the leaves that helps- the red cabbage works the best, but be careful, it will stain! Also, you can try taking a decongestant/ antihisatmine like benedryl. (maybe before bed). It will dry you up FAST! I will call you this afternoon... lots to talk about!
ReplyDeleteE
So I bought the cabbage and benedryl! How long do I keep the cabbage on me? And how big of a piece? Like the whole leaf? I will experiment myself, but I would like to know what you experienced users did! :) Thanks for the advice!
ReplyDeleteI put the cabbage in at night before bed. I usually took it out sometime during the night. As for the staining, I didn't really notice it too much because I put it in my sports bra, so I didn't really care about stains. (By the way, that was another thing I was told - to wear really tight fitting bras to avoid any "stimulation"). As for the size, I just cut the head of cabbage in half and used a leaf. I guess it was probably about the size that you would see for a lettuce wrap or maybe just slightly smaller? Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI heard if you put carrots up your nose, it helps stop a runny nose. Then you could be a walking salad:)
ReplyDeleteLove the update- take a picture of the beach for me!!!
ReplyDeleteLove You-
Chels
