Life around here these days....

House hunting is far more stressful than I ever dreamed it would be. Matt, Hudson, and I got up early Saturday morning to start the hunt in Ft. Worth. First we just wanted to check out the area because we don't know Ft. Worth at all. It was a very educational because we learned real quick where we DON'T want to live. I just want to "know" it is our home when we see it. We have an appointment with our realtor all day tomorrow. I am really excited because she is going to show us around and take us to neighborhoods that she thinks we may like. What disappoints me is that we'll see a house on the internet and think, "Wow, this one is great." Then we'll get over there and it is the nicest one in the neighborhood, or that there is no neighborhood...it's all construction. So hopefully tomorrow we'll know at least the area we want to buy in. We are hoping to have the house by August...let's keep our fingers crossed. Matt's mom is coming today so she can keep Hudson for us while we shop. That's a HUGE relief.

I chopped my hair off last Friday. I love it and it is a good summer cut. I keep thinking that I want to grow it out, but really long hair just isn't for me.

HUDSON UPDATE:
*OK, I have to say it. My child gets cuter every day. I am amazed with how fast he learns new things. It seems that he just studies us and studies every word we say and tries to copy. ADORABLE!

*Words Hudson says: Mama, Dada, baby, ball, nana (bananna), bebe (blankie), papa, Aee (Ace our dog), bye bye, nigh nigh (night night), meh meh (medicine), beh (bath)...thats all that I can think of off the top of my head. I feel like the list just keeps growing everyday.

*One thing that is super cute is that we'll ask him, "Hudson, where is the baby?" And he will then start patting his tummy and say baby, baby.

*He loves his blankie and we'll say night night, and he will grab is blankie and lay down on his blankie.

*His favorite food is bananna. He will crawl to his high chair and say "nana"??

*We brought Hudson a bouncy ball back from Hawaii and HE LOVES IT. He loves to roll it, throw it to us, and just play with it. One word we hear ALL the time is ball.

*I'll tell Hudson to go get a book, and he will crawl and pick out a book and bring it back to me to read it. I love love love reading to him. His favorite book is about babies. We'll tell him to give the baby a kiss and he will kiss every baby in the book. A wide mouth, slobbery kiss. I love them. He has learned to blow kisses too. You're pretty special if you get one. He doesn't throw them out too freely.

*He has learned how to fake laugh and smile. He will scrunch his face up and fake laugh. It is so funny.

I am in such denial that he will be a year old in just a few weeks. Where on earth has this year gone? I feel like I can't remember my life before him, and I cannot even begin to imagine my life without him. He is a constant source of joy and laughter to our family. We are head over hills crazy in love with our sweet boy. I feel like being Hudson's mommy and Matt's wife is what I was put on this earth to do. Just when I feel like my heart is maxed out with the amount of love it can hold, I fall deeper in love with them.

We went to cousin Walkers 3rd birthday party last weekend. It was so fun and it was wonderful seeing my family...even for a short while. Here are a few recent pictures!

Hudson LOVES corn on the cob. It his new favorite!
Hudson and Walker at Walkers 3rd bday party. Hudson wanted all of Walkers toys!

  2. Cute Hair!

Hudson is getting so big. I hate that we knew so much about him before he was born and now we never get to see him. I am sure that will change.

  3. we are excited that you guys are moving this direction...i'm no realtor, but if you have any questions just about the area, please ask! it will be neat to have another couple so close by that has a little one...maybe we can actually get them together now!
are you guys going to stay at farmers branch? i know you love it there and it isn't too bad of a drive depending on where you end up buying...but if you want somewhere a little closer, we would love to see yall at richland hills!
