Catch up!

Well, again we have been very busy over here! Last weekend we went out west with our friends The Thomas' to their ranch. They have asked us several times to go with them and it seems that something has always happened to where it did not work out. Example: Winter Blast Storm. So they picked us up Friday around lunch time and off we went! Hudson spent the weekend in Tyler with my family, so it was a nice get-away for us. We had a great time doing well NOTHING. We made all of our meals (except for our yummy trip to Perinis), stayed in our pjs, read, slept, played games....it was so relaxing. The weather was so nice too. Sat. we stayed up so late playing all types of card/board games then talked until we were nearly cross eyed! Thanks for having us you guys!!!!

I have to give a BIG SHOUT OUT TO MISS ACU LEADERSHIP COUNSELOR 2007...drum roll please....LAUREN MULLINS!!! Matt's youngest sister is going to be a counselor this summer. Those of you who know me know how much ACU camps mean to me. I went as a camper and every summer of college I was a counselor. Matt and I have also volunteered a week every summer since we graduated. So basically WE LOVE ACU CAMPS! We are so excited for her. I wish I could go back and relive my first summer as a counselor. There is nothing like it!!! I am so proud that she is going to experience something that will forever change her life!! It's like experiencing a taste of Heaven all summer long!! WAY TO GO LAUREN!!!

Well, we got home Sunday from the ranch and I was SICK with a sinus infection. I am now starting to feel all better, but boy it has been rough. I have been taking a z-pack, so that has taken care of it! Sunday night Matt and I went to Barnes and Noble. We got coffee and TONS of books/magazines and found us a few chairs. We sat and read for a couple of hours. This was a cheap date that we use to do before we had Hudson. We would go and hide at Barnes and Noble. I always got caught up on all my magazines for FREE! :) It was a relaxing evening to a very relaxing weekend!

I went and met my Dad and Shelley in Terrell (half way) to pick up Hudson on Monday morning. I could hardly stand it I was sooo excited to get him back!!! There is nothing like getting away for a little while, but there is NOTHING SWEETER than getting your baby back after a few days! We missed him pretty bad! We played HARD on Monday!

Tuesday morning Hudson and I left for Wichita Falls for a night. We went to visit Matt's family. It was a good visit. What I really went for was for a FREE SONOGRAM! What I did not tell in my "It's a GIRL" post a while back was that I was nervous that it may not be a girl. When I had my sonogram then it took FOREVER to get a glimpse of her private parts. In fact we did actually "see" that it was a girl, but because we had to look and look and look for a good view...I was just uneasy that it was 100% a girl. Well at my last drs apt I asked if I could have another sonogram. News to me, but you have to have a medical reason so your insurance will cover your sonograms. So Matt's dad being the wonderful doctor he is asked a girl at his hospital if she would give me a sonogram. AND SHE DID! So we went on Tuesday to have a sonogram. It is 100% a girl. It was funny because the moment she put the probe on my stomach she landed right on the right spot and said, "Oh, it is definitely a girl." So I am so relieved to know for sure! That little doubt in my mind was enough doubt to drive me crazy! Even though I felt like it really was a girl, I still doubted if we got a clear enough picture. So now we can PAINT the room!!! I am so excited to get her nursery together. I have it all planned out in my mind how I want it to look. Let me tell you...it's going to be pretty darn cute! I'll be sure and post pictures once it is finished. We want to start now so we can do one project at a time and pace ourselves! We are also going to give Hudson his big boy room too, so we have our work cut out for us!

Here are some great pictures I got of our little girl! We are more excited than ever to get to meet her!!!

Such a sweet profile!
Harper sucking her thumb! I think this is the sweetest picture of all!
A close up of Harper waving to the camera!!

  1. How fun! I bet you are excited about decorating for a girl. I don't know about you, but it seems that girl stuff is a lot more fun than boy stuff...clothes, accessories, bedding, etc. If we have a girl I think it will definetly put us in the poor house!

I totally know what you mean about not knowing FOR SURE that it is a girl. With Todd, the boy-part was just there in plain site!! When we had the 20-week sono this time, the lady said "it's a girl," but the baby was so wiggly that it was just a little glimpse. So - Momma here wasn't so certain. But -- when I had my fall and they were checking out baby's spine and movement, I asked them to doublecheck the sex, and she confirmed that it was a SHE. I can't wait to see Harper's AND Hudson's new rooms!

  5. Love the pictures! And we LOVE Perinis. We often talk about going back to Abilene just to go there (and Harold's and Joe Allen's and Fujis....so many of our college memories revolve around food!).

  6. Those are such sweet sonogram pictures! The one of her sucking her thumb looks like a pregnancy book picture. I got some free sonograms when I was pregnant with Jackson because a doctor in Brownwood (and friend of Boone's dad) had a new girl training to do sonograms and wanted some practice patients. It was great! I think I ended up getting three sonograms for free from him; however, I also ended up getting a ton of sonograms at my doctor's office (but had to pay a copay for each one) because I had high blood pressure, so my doctor checked my fluid levels every other week from week 25 till the end. Jackson and I were very well acquainted by the time he got here, but I NEVER saw him suck his thumb like Harper!!! Too sweet!

You are going to have to keep us updated on how the transition from baby bed to big boy bed goes for Hudson! I can't wait to see pictures of both of their rooms.

  9. Yeah for Lauren. She is going to have a BLAST being a counselor. ACU camps have a special place in my heart to. One reason is being that is where I met YOU!!

I know how it is to doubt what you are having. Even when they told me that Jude was a 100% boy, there was always this underlying fear of,"What if they are wrong". Even though in the back of my mind I KNEW he was a boy. It is just those wonderful pregnant hormones that like to play tricks on ya. :) I love the picture of Harper sucking her thumb. It looks like it could be in a magazine for sonogram pictures. Seriously!! Perfect shot.

I can't wait to see pictures of that girl nursery. I'm sure it was be as adorable as anything else you have ever created. You rock when it comes to that stuff.

I miss you. I hope to see you at least once before you have your baby girl!! I love you!!
