Last Sunday I was in for a real big treat. Hudson's Mini came in town to keep Hudson while I went to Dallas for a few days. Matt had meetings in down town Dallas Sun-Tues. Wells Fargo put him up in a hotel. So I went and stayed with him. It was so fun. We had a great time together. While he was in his meetings I went and spent the day shopping. I had a great time being ALL BY MYSELF! I went to Pottery Barn Kids and bought Harper's rug, and then spent the rest of my day at Northpark. It seriously has the be the greatest mall of all time! If you have not been since they have added on...THEN GO! Oh my goodness, I think I walked 5 miles just going around from store to store. It was so nice because on a Monday it really was pretty empty. I really did enjoy myself! Matt got off on Monday about 4 and we spent the evening together. Matt and I love fancy restaurants. We love to get dressed up and go out and wine and dine. We love to find any excuse to go out to a fancy place. That is one of our many reasons we miss Dallas. We had so much fun trying all their nice restaurants. We typically spoil ourselves just 4 times a year. Birthdays, Anniversary, and Valentines....but it is something we always look forward to. Matt's bday is in April, so this was sort of an early bday dinner. This guy Matt works with told us that we had to try Perry's in Uptown. OK, you Dallas people....GO on your next date! You won't be disappointed. It was out of this world, to die for YUMMY! It was a very romantic environment too. I give it a perfect 10! After dinner we went and saw that new Adam Sandler movie....I forgot what it is called. I'm still not sure what I think about the movie though. I'd say save it for the dollar movie. There was a part in the movie that I was just like...what???? If you have seen it let me know your thoughts! It really does make you thankful for what you have though.
After my fun time in the Big D, I was very ready to come home to my Hudman. While we were away Mini painted the kids bathroom. Let me tell you it is the cutest bathroom EVER! We painted it "spring green." I love love love love it. Thank you Mini for working soooooooo hard!!!
The rest of the week we spent indoors. It has rained nonstop since Monday. I mean POURED! Yesterday we got out when it "cleared up" for dinner and a quick run to Super Target. Once we got home it was yet again pouring. So Matt and Hudson stripped down and played in the rain. Of course there was NO thunder. They had a fun time splashing around playing.
Tonight we are headed to church. It seems like we count down from one weekend to the next. We feel so blessed to go to a church that causes us to stretch and grow like we did at Farmers Branch. We have begun the membership process at RH and are very excited about that. Hudson promotes to the 2's class tonight too. Such a big boy. He LOVES church now and literally RUNS to "Bible Cass" as he calls it. He seriously does not want to leave when we pick him up. I LOVE that. Him loving church is so important to us. He sings Jesus love's me and at the end of the song he'll say "Yeahhhh Jesus!!!" Then start clapping. It is so cute. I need to get that on video. He is talking more and more and making more sentences. Really the only time he isn't talking is when he is asleep. He really is the light of my life and is such a joy.
Here are a few pics of what we have been up to lately.
Hudson and Claire on their 1st date. Aren't they cute??
Hud and Daddy riding tractors at Lowes.
Last night after they played in the rain.
SPLISH SPLASH!!!

So fun!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have had a great week!
Hudson is so cute!
I can't wait to see pics of Harper's room.
Yeah! You updated! I do wish that we lived closer...the kids are (and will be) so close in age! When does/did Hudson turn 2? We also have upgraded to the big boy bed, but he has yet to sleep in it! It looks like y'all had a great week! It's wonderful that you have found a church that your whole family loves!
ReplyDeleteThat's so great that you let Hudson play around in the rain like that...what fun parents he has! I've been updating quite frequently now...are you proud?
ReplyDeleteWow...what are the odds of that happening? Hopefully their birthdays will be at least a few days apart so they can have their own "celebration" time!
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for your update and was so happy to read it! Sounds like a very, very fun week for you!! I'm up at Northpark about once a week to just walk around, so next time you're there, give me a ring!! I'd love to meet you up!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the video of Hudson & Matt in the rain. I need to learn some lessons from you and let Todd get a little dirty! Looks like they were having a blast!!!
Glad that you are loving your new church. We tried out your old one today, but think that it's just a little too far for us. I thought of you when we were there this morning!!
Yeah, you finally updated! So excited to see what you have done for little miss Harper.
ReplyDeleteHooray for updating! I love that you let Hud play in the rain. So cute! Are you guys going to be in town for Easter? I will. Miss you!

Ok...I have tried to post a comment twice and this thing hates me! Chloe and Hudson are only 15 days apart. Chloe will be 2 on July 28th! And who knows...maybe Harper will have a friend soon enough! ha ha! We will be in Arlington this weekend and talked about visiting the zoo. We would love to see Hudson and you both. I am so glad you are getting to do a little girls room, girls are just so much fun!
ReplyDeleteWe placed membership at RH last week! We need to get together sometime after church on Saturday night. Can't wait to see the pics of the new baby girl's room too.
ReplyDeleteAllison:
ReplyDeleteEmail me and we can talk more about what we did and I can tell you what we have gotten involved with at RH. My email is:
kristen_oquinn@hotmail.com
Look forward to hearing from you!
Playing in the rain looks like so much fun! I need to let Jackson do that. We have many opportunities here in Galveston for such activities!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see pictures of Hudson's big boy room and Harper's sweet baby girl room! Also, I am SO very jealous of you going shopping all by your lonesome!
Also, I meant to tell you that I am SO jealous of you going to Richland Hills! I love that church - it is where I went in junior high and high school. Our church experience here is, let's just say, unfortunate yet complicated. Soak up enough RHCC for me, too!
ReplyDeleteI always forget y'all are here in Fort Worth until I see things like the Hulen Mall tables! :)
ReplyDeleteAllison--How are you? I've been reading your blog for the past few months and have finally started my own and can make comments on other peoples. Anyway, your son is precious and how exciting you're having a girl!! I'm glad you are doing well. I live in Chicago now while my husband is in law school. He finishes in May and we'll be moving to Dallas where he'll start working. I'm looking forward to being back in TX but we really do love Chicago. I just wanted to say hi!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Kellee (Poe) Shoemaker
Would you believe that Todd has only slept in his big-boy bed one time (the time I shot the picture)? I need to get some siderails for his bed. Once I do that, we'll start the transition. Currently, his crib is in the same room as all of his big boy furniture. So -- we read books & say prayers cuddled up on the big bed, but no sleeping yet!!
