MATT HAS SNUCK IN TO ALLISON'S BLOG AND TAKEN OVER!!
The most beautiful baby in the world has pushed her way out!
HARPER FAITH MULLINS
7 Lbs 14 ozs
20 ins.
The picture to the left is not of Harper, it is my Beautiful Wife, my new Hero!!!!!!
Yesterday morning, while all of you were tucked snug and safe in your beds, your pregnant friend was going thru that wonderful, clean, and sweet miracle of birth!.................wouldnt that have been nice!
Allison came to my side of the bed at midnight and told me that this was it. So we got Hudson taken care of and headed off to Harris Southwest to have a baby. Allison's contractions were getting closer and worse once we got there, so they went ahead and admitted us.
Well, everything is progressing nicely and then Allison tells me that it is hurting so bad and that the nurse HAS to give her an epidural. The nurse called the Dr and he said not yet, so she just hung in there, hating life. At 5:15, (after the nurse just told us that nothing had changed and she was still dialated to a 3) Allison had to go to the bathroom, so i walked her in there and her pain was just getting worse and worse. Then, she says "Matt, i need to push!" I ran and got the nurse and by the time Allison got back to the bed (and the nurse is screaming "dont push yet!", i saw Harper's head! Allison gave 2-3 quick pushes and Harper came flying out onto the bed/nurse's arms!!!!! She was healthy, perfect, and beautiful WITH NO DR. IN SIGHT! (do we still have to pay those bills???)
Keep in mind that this all happened so quickly that Allison never was able to get the epidural that she needed, so your friend and my sweet bride had a NATURAL CHILDBIRTH!!!!! Those of you who know Allison know that she's not the Mother Earth type--she's more of the "i better not feel any pain" type. So the next time you talk to Allison, just remember that beneath those big brown eyes and that beautiful smile, there's a strength that is superhuman---She is my Hero!
(i figured the wonderwoman pic would be a little more suiting than The Hulk)
They are both doing great now and we feel so blessed to add her to the family. Hudson is loving to touch Baby Harper and loves seeing so many visitors. Hopefully they will let us go home today.
Pictures will follow!
I am SOOO proud of you Allison! How amazing that you were able to withstand the pain. I can't wait to see sweet Harper. I will be praying that you will heal quickly, and that you will not feel too much pain. Love you girl!
