Well, I went to the doctor yesterday to find out that I was dilated to a 3 and 50% effaced. This was a BIG surprise for me. With Hudson I did not even begin to dilate until we were in the hospital being induced 3 days AFTER my due date. (I thought he would stay in there forever). Luckily, with him, after they began the process of inducing me I had him just 4 hours later. My doctor said we could have a baby any day now, and for me to waste no time getting to the hospital since Hudson came so quickly. Supposedly the 2nd comes quicker.?.? We'll see. I am trying so hard not to get my hopes up though. I am just going to keep it in my head she isn't coming until the 9th.
Hudson had a great week at VBS! They loved him and said he was "very active." His teachers were always happy to see him, so he must not have been too difficult. :) Matt and I enjoyed the 1 hour to ourselves this week. Each night we went to Barnes and Noble for coffee and some reading. That's one of our favorite things to do. It was always fun picking up Hudson and hearing what all he learned. The theme was Noah, so he had plenty to say on Noah and the animals.
Today I went to Plano to give Hudson to Matt's mom until Sat. I also went to get my haircut (I haven't found anyone in Ft. Worth yet). I have a laundry list of things to do before Harper comes. Since my doctors apt. I feel a since of urgency to accomplish it all. It will help having Hudson away tomorrow. I am having Leslie Thomas' baby shower over here Sat. night. I know, it's crazy to think being 9 months pregnant hosting a shower at my house....but I have been very optimistic about Harper waiting until after the 30th to make her grand appearance. It will be fun to shower Baby Haven with lots of goodies. I am excited to see a lot of college friends too. Yes, we do have a Plan B if Harper comes early.
So thats about it. We have been busy getting things together for the shower and for Harper. I don't think it has really sunk in that she is going to be here before we know it. Any of you moms out there that went from 1 to 2 kids....feel free to post some free advice!!! I know we'll have our hands full, but I can hardly wait to have BOTH of my kids under 1 roof!!! It really is a dream come true.

The only advice I have for you (since I have been a mom of two for a whole 8 weeks now) is to get a maid if you don't already have one! :)
ReplyDeleteThe 30th really is the best day to be born on:) Come one Harper!!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!! I hope you get everything done that you need to!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that your baby girl will be here so soon (and probably sooner than you thought!). Good luck with everything, and enjoy these last weeks with just Hudson!

I praying for and thinking about you all during this time!!
ReplyDeleteOh, take care of yourself and keep us updated on Harper's arrival. We will be praying for you and can't wait to see picts!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!!! I can't wait to meet Harper!! My suggestion - let Harper sleep in the hospital nursery at night and let them bring her to you to nurse and then go back to sleep. I did that w/ Natalie and the sleep was so refreshing!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is totally not on topic of the main point of the post, but I just left the love of my life hairdresser in Fort Worth when I moved to Dallas. His name is Tim and he is at Shelton's Salon on Hulen St close to TCU. He is FANTASTIC...I know he cut Bria Owen's hair for a long time too but I'm not sure if he still does. You should try him out.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see pictures of Harper!!
