Goodbye to an old friend......

YUP! The day has come where we are making the BIG switch from Super Target to Super Walmart. We have been VERY loyal Super Target shoppers ever since we moved to Plano after college. We shopped at Super Target when we lived in: Plano, Carrollton, Plano again, and Fort Worth. There was never a question to where we were going to do our grocery shopping. It's been our late Sunday afternoon event for years now. When we moved here to San Antonio I was very excited because we live right in the middle of 2 very new and very nice S. Targets. The best part was on my first visit there I walked in and felt like I heard the Angels singing because it was THE EXACT LAYOUT as our Ft. Worth Super Target. I knew exactly where everything was. Could get in and out in no time. It was a beautiful thing.

Well, inflation has HIT BIG TIME. I don't know if you all are experiencing the pain at the gas station AND at the grocery store, but we sure are. I feel like our grocery bill has been an extra 30-50 dollars a week, AND don't get me started on gas prices. It's horrible. Here gas is right around $3.50 a gallon. It's just insane. Are ya'll feeling the pain too?

So we are making the switch. We went to Super Walmart last night and we felt the savings. Everything was considerably cheaper. I was LOST in the store. Had no clue where things were, but I know I'll learn my way in no time.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE TARGET, but for buying groceries they need to be like Walmart and have the "falling prices."

So I am going to leave you now with the ever so cute conversation that we had on the way to Wally World yesterday with my cute Hudman.

Hud-God made us, didn't he?
Matt- That's right, Hud he sure did.
Hud-God made my swimsuit.
Alli-Well, God made the man who made your swimsuit.
Hud- Yeah. Mom, your a good dwirl (girl). (Still hasn't gotten that 'g' sound down yet).
Alli-Thanks, Hud. You're a good boy too!
Hud-Yeah. Noah made an ark, and he had animals on it.
Matt-What animals were on it?
Hud-Horses, frogs, a mouse....
Matt-and dogs and cats.
Hud-(in a very matter-of-fact voice) Nooooo, Daddy, they live on a farm!

I guess we got the story wrong and dogs and cats didn't make it on the ark...HA! Hud sure was quick to correct Daddy's mistake. This conversation was with no moments in between his thoughts. I decided then that if I had to live in an almost 3 year olds mind for 5 minutes, I would have a migrain. I love having conversations with him. He is so funny and clever!

  1. I feel the same way about Target even though we do not have a super Target close to us. I really don't like Wal-Mart, but they do have better prices on lots of things we us. I still am not super crazy about the grocery prices. I will get some things there, but I still make another trip to Kroger for most of our groceries.

We are blessed with a company car, so we only have gas prices on 1 car.

    Love 2 all...

  2. I am sad too...when we move we won't have a Target close, only a Super Walmart (and a United). Anyway, I just love Target and will miss it too!!

Love all the pictures and stories about Sea World. Glad you live so close to a fun place like that!

  3. I feel ya Miss Allison! I am obsessed with the economy right now. I check CNN.com all day (mainly because it is one of the few web-sites not blocked at school) but it is very interesting to me. They always have polls on what worries you economically and do you think gas prices are too high, etc. I told Ryan at least in West Texas, people are doing ok because so many people are connected to the oil business but in other parts of the country and world, it is really hitting hard. I've noticed prices going way up in the last couple months and we are back to shopping at Super Wal-Mart as well. We had boycotted since November but it really is so much cheaper!

  4. AMEN! to all of that.

Hate gas prices and they just went up again this morning! I mean SERIOUSLY. I have decided no matter the cost, the next car I buy is going to be a hybrid. Its just worth it for how much we drive.

    LOVE Hudson's comments.
