I really do! I totally get it. After being a very devoted blog writer and reader for 2 and 1/2 years, I have to say that I now understand online relationships. I am a blog stalker to many people that I don't know. I'd say that 99% of the blogs I stalk are friends of friends, so that doesn't make me too creepy, does it? But they are blogs that I look forward to reading. Blogs of people that I honestly think I could be friends with. I seriously read them and think, "if we lived in the same town, I know we would make the best of friends." Does anyone else out there feel this way? Are there strangers blogs that you read and wish you actually were friends with them? Or am I just a weirdo?? I have been meaning to post about this for a long time now, but just now getting around to it. I guess the questions are: Why are we blog stalkers? Why don't we come out of our blog stalking closets and befriend those that we stalk? What holds us back from leaving a comment on that strangers blog we love to read? Who knows they may be stalking your blog too and thinking the exact same thing!?!?
Food for thought on a Monday morning!!

So true!! I think most people are scared to comment on blogs because of what people might think of them. Personally, I don't mind strangers reading my blog, but it would be more fun to know who they are!
ReplyDeleteMiss you too!
Stalker, speaking up! I don't even know how I found you, Allison, but I really enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteI am totally a stalker and there are so many people I would love to be friends with. I feel like I know them and look forward to read how their weekend or day went. Thank you so much for introducing me to the world of blogging.

ReplyDeleteHey Alison! This is so true! I found your blog through Amy Owen's blog and then I could not believe it was you! I am the one that emailed you when you were teaching at Lee to see how you liked it! I met you the day of your baby shower! I remember when you brought Hudson up to Lee and he was so little! I can't believe how much he has grown! You have such a beautiful family! I am glad I can confess that I found your blog about a week ago...hopefully you don't think I am creepy!! ha ha! Have a great day! -Kelly Viehbeck
ReplyDeleteThis is so true! I happened to recognize a fellow blogger at Chick-fil-a because I frequently stalk her blog. I introduced myself and hopefully didn't look like a total psycho!!

I haven't because I feel like a total psycho! I know all thier kids names and all about what they had for dinner last week! CRAZY!!! Way to go Tracey for confessing in real life!!!! Way more guts than I have, I can't even leave a comment!

Great post! I feel like I am at an AA meeting after reading all the comments! My name is Ashley, and I am a blog stalker. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I am pretty sure we all fall in the same boat! Even though we share a GREAT mutual friend, you and I don't really know each other outside of blogging, and I think we would be friends if we lived closer to each other. But yeah, I read people's blogs I don't know. I even stalk people's blogs who I do know and never comment. Maybe someday I will come out of the closet! : )
ReplyDeleteI don't stalk, I just read. Because I actually know you, hehe!! I love your blog oh so much!!
ReplyDeleteI am a blog stalker! Lately I've tried to leave comments on people's blogs that I've been stalking. I read Emily's blog every once in awhile. About a year ago, I was playing softball and got on first base. I looked at the first baseman and realized he was Emily's husband. I asked him if he went to ACU and he looked at me like I was crazy! So...Emily, if you are reading these comments, next time I'm playing softball I'll say hi!
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me...so I guess that means I'm a blog stalker! I grew up with Jeff Turner and found your blog through Emily's. I clicked on one of your comments once and have been reading your blog ever since. I think I started reading your blog because you look just like one of my friends from college. You seem to be full of energy, fun and have good taste. So, I stalk you...hope that's okay!
ReplyDeleteI so blog stalk you, this is Tamara I'm a friend of Melissa's haha! its funny cause she'll go to tell me a story about Hudson, I'm like I know I read that! haha
ReplyDeleteLove your post, Allison! I always wonder who reads my blog... Love your thoughts! It makes me think-- how much it bothers me when I go somewhere where there's a room full of people and NO ONE is talking to one another. Like a doctor's office, elevator, etc... I feel all awkward because I like to talk and feel like if we're in the same place we should all have something is common to chat about or become friends... ha! :) I'm with ya!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are not the only blog stalker! I completely agree with you too. You just get carried away. You click through pages and have no idea how you ended up reading this person blog. Then you find that you want to keep reading and checking up on them. I have loved it. I also agree about being friends with these people. We need a blog gathering so we can meet and get to know each other better.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I have told you yet but I love your new blog design. Don't you just love Kelly!!!
Great post! I stalk people all the time and sometimes leave comments, but don't hear back from the them. So, they think I am a weirdo or are also stalkers who don't leave comments!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Allison! Well, you know I read your blog from previous comments. I kept reading your blog because I thought, "Hey, we could be friends if they lived closer." Now you do! The offer to get together for lunch after church at OHC still stands. :)
ReplyDeleteHAHAHHA!!!! GREAT POST!!! The truth is told! You are so freaking funny. =)
ReplyDeleteWay to call out all the stalkers. I always comment if I read people's blogs, I just hardly get around to reading other blogs these days. You know I always check yours though.
ReplyDeleteWe are friends so I don't stalk your blog! :) I LOVE reading about your life and kids. You are precious!
ReplyDeleteI'll admit it...I stalk your blog! I think your family is adorable and I admit I come over to see what is going on with you guys. I went to ACU and I think you did too, but I am older!!! Love your kids clothes and any little bits I see of your house...is that bad???!!! Enjoy SAT...it is home to my very best friend in the whole wide world.
ReplyDeleteYour blog stalker blog is so funny! I found your blog somehow and I love to read about your tales in San Antonio. I was raised there and it's fun to read about someone who's raising their little ones there and hearing about familiar places. It's such a fun place to live! So, I'm officially not a blog stalker anymore since I left a comment. Thanks for the funny blog!
ReplyDeleteIf lived in the same neighborhood we would absolutely be friends. Absolutely. ...here's an idea: add one of those blogger maps and a red dot will grow bigger and bigger over my country each time I surf your site...gehen Sie mit Gott
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, I'm a blog stalker as well! I love your blog, it helps me look to my future because I have two young children just a little younger than your two, so I like to read to help me know what to expect. I found your blog through Kristen's. Glad you don't mind, and glad I've confessed!!
