Lately.............

Lately, we haven't been up to too much. I guess that is my excuse for the lack of blogging going on here. I guess I'll just hit a few of my highlights.

  • Tiffany came last weekend. It was really fun having her here and seeing her baby brother Blake. I think I'll always see him as her baby brother!! She was pretty busy hanging out with him most of the time, but we did go to La Cantera on Saturday which I loved....of course!!
  • My cousin and her family flaked on us last minute. They had a good reason, so they are forgiven. They rescheduled for the end of the summer. Should I hold my breath on that one??? Just kidding, you guys!! Just giving ya'll a hard time. We CAN'T wait for ya'll to come.

  • Father's day was great!! You know, there are just some men who are "born to be a daddy", and Matt Mullins is one of those guys. He deserves a Father's Day more than once a year. If you know Matt, you just know that he is as good as they come. I am inspired by the way he loves. The way he loves me and the way he loves our children. I LOVE seeing him light up when he get's home, and the way the kids light up when they see him. He always tells me that his day begins when he walks thru that door. There is never a question to where his priorities are. Seeing him as a daddy makes me love him more and more with each passing day!! We love you so much Matt!!!

  • We have been going to the pool and to the park as much as possible. The one thing I really despise about summer time is SUNSCREEN!! I absolutely DREAD putting it on the kids. I seem to always get it in their eyes some how. (Even with the tear-free stuff). I just don't like all the greasy mess it creates. I know I need to get over it, but we are super paranoid about covering every inch of their skin...and it drives me nuts!! I do seem to get more efficient each time. Maybe by the end of the summer I'll be really good at it! The spray stuff helps A LOT!! There are a million parks here in SA, so we are trying to hit a new park a week. We'll see which one becomes our favorite.

  • Our 5 year anniversary is July 26th. Matt and I booked a trip to Cabo this week for mid Sept. We are SO PUMPED!! We love love LOVE going to the beach and being beach bums. So we cannot wait!!

  • I am trying to wrap my mind around Christmas next month. Harper turns 1 on the 5th {I CAN'T believe it), Hudson turns 3 (is that really possible???) on the 13th, and then our anniversary is the 26th. I'm trying to figure out bday plans, cakes, and what to buy them. Lots to work on!!!

  • Coming up in the next few weeks we have a few things to look forward to. The 4 of us are going to Brownwood to meet up with our friends Crystal and Micah Foster, and FINALLY meet the other little love in our life Mr. Jaxon Foster. I can't even say how excited we are to see them!!! It'll be so fun to have our kids together. We are also looking forward to our trip to A-town Abilene for Kadesh 3. If you know us, you know we LOVE ACU camps. We haven't missed a summer since college and don't plan to. We are taking the kids too, so it's going to be an experience. We got the curriculum today and are all set to get ready for it!! We can't wait!

  • I found a new blog that I have started reading. Her name is Angie, and her faith blows me away. Reading her blog is like a good book that you can't put down. If you have some spare time (and I mean some serious spare time) her story starts here, and if you want to read the letter that she wrote to her baby after she passed away the go here. You'll be a changed person after reading her words. Grab some tissues b/c if you are like me then the flood gates will open! It really will make you want to draw closer to the Lord and live that kind of faith.

  • Hudson and Harper have both gotten over a 24 hour virus. It wasn't fun, but it was not horrible. They just had fever and were not themselves for a bit. Glad it's over and everyone is healthy!!

Finally I leave you with pictures of my 2 kiddos! We are planning on going to the zoo this weekend. It'll be hot!! But it's summer time in Texas what do you expect? We just plan on sweating all summer long, and having 2 greasy sun-screened kids!! Enjoy the pictures!! Oh, and the video of Harper at the end was from the end of May. It was too sweet of her not to post, so it's a little dated but still precious!! *I had to come in today and add a few pictures of Hudson taken this morning. He was all dressed up as a pirate and looked TOO CUTE not to share!*

Happy Harper after our walk.

Good thing we had a policeman with us to keep us safe!

Hudson and Daddy at Texas Roadhouse on Father's Day.

And of course a picture with his baby girl!

Cowboy Hud!

Not too sure what happened to the glasses, but he wore them anyway!!

The policeman with his fireman boots.

I think he's pretty cute all dressed up!

My Pirate!!

While I wasn't looking, Hudson decided he was in the mood for peanut butter. As irritating as it was, we got a good laugh out of it.

Mr. Too Cool for School at the park.

Look at those eye lashes. Beautiful!!! She got those from her daddy...Hud too!

Notice that the hat is too small, the glasses are up-side-down (and baby sunglasses for that matter), and his ears are bent. That's a real good look!!

Being bashful for the camera.

"OK, I smiled can I go play now?"

Hudson...what can I say, but he likes to "dress up just like his Daddy did...ha! Matt is a great Dad and you are the best Mom, too! We are so proud of you both and your precious little family. We can't wait to see you in a few weeks...let the birthday parties begin.

  5. It is funny how we all end up reading the same blogs, I agree that Angie's is a good one. Your sweet Harper shares a birthday with my hubby! Thanks for sharing all the cute pictures.

  6. I love love all the pictures. I just think it is so amazing how much Hud is like Matt. Harper's hair is so funny.. looks like Reese's when I take it down. I learned the art of keeping her hair up..little rubber bands.. they are too hard for her to take out. I am growing her hair out so she HAS to have the top pulled up out of her eyes.

I am so proud of the father that matt is....I always knew he would be an awesome dad.

I love the blog!!! I tried to play with mine, but I am still working on it. I need a new template. I found a cool web-site for scrap blogging.

I miss you guys soooooo sooooo much. My comment from Matt made me tear up.

Love with hug and kisses to all!

  7. Love it all! Love the new page. Love the pictures, the video is precious! I am just not sure if we are going to be at Kadeah and I am super bummed. I cried in church tonight when we sang It is well. I don't think I can ever sing that without tears.

You are so good about taking the kids places all the time. I am such a bum mom sometimes.
