Bye Bye July!

Well, July has come and gone in a hurry!! Our Christmas in July is officially over. We are just as broke as we are at the end of every December due to all the spending. HA! It's been fun. I guess now I'll start calling July my 'sappy month of reflection' because that is what goes on with me. I never knew until I became a mother how your child's birthday is such a monumental day in your life worth celebrating. I love birthdays, and I especially love celebrating my kid's birthdays. This July has been busy, but wonderful.

Our 5 year anniversary was great. My grandmother and sister came to town last Friday and stayed thru Tuesday. One of the perks of their visit was that they babysat the kids Saturday night. So Matt and I got all dressed up and went down town to the Riverwalk. He had reservations at The Little Rhein Steak House. It was wonderful and so romantic. Our dinner was excellent, but the atmosphere was even better. I loved every minute. The sweetest part of the evening was after dinner Matt wanted us to go for a walk by the River. We were on a bridge looking around and he did the awkward stop that happens when you get engaged. I was like what on earth are you doing??? He pulled out of his pocket 2 3x5 note cards with our vows from our wedding day written on them. We wrote our own vows to each other, and they are so beautiful and so special. So we stood there on top of that bridge and said our vows again to one another. To say them again 5 years later was such a beautiful moment. To actually reflect on how we have lived our vows out to one another these last 5 years made my heart fill with such joy. I told him that we should say them to one another every year because it was such a beautiful reminder of what we vowed to one another. One day I'll share our vows on here. Now we are even more pumped about our Cabo trip in Sept. We are ready for honeymoon part 2!!

I forgot to mention last week was the kids well check apts. We like our new pediatrician too. Matt luckily was able to meet me up there, so that was a HUGE help. It was rough even with the 2 of us there with the kids. Hud measured in at 32 and 1/2 lbs and 37.5 inches long. My boy is officially 3'1. HA! He came in at 50% across the board. Miss Priss weighed in at 20.2 lbs and is 30 inches long. She is 25% for weight and 75% for height. Long and lean. The 1 year shots are pretty brutal. It was horrible. Hud does not get any until he turns 4. She warned us that it is a difficult apt. At least you get a year to prepare, I guess. But both kids are healthy and developmentally doing great.

Harper has officially taken off walking. It was so funny. She woke up from her nap on Sunday and was off. She is precious doing it and it is almost like she wants to run not walk. I'll have to show video of her soon.

Tomorrow evening we are headed to see The Wiggles in concert here. We are super pumped! This year we are on the 3RD ROW with aisle seats. It's going to be awesome. I can't wait to see Hud dance and go crazy this year. Last year I think he was more or less star struck with awe. Harper slept thru the entire show last year. I think tomorrow she is going to enjoy the singing and dancing. I know I'll have a bunch of pictures and video to share!!!

That's about all for now!! Here are a few pictures from this past weekend because you know I never write without pictures!

This was Saturday morning, and luckily I was fast enough with my camera to capture Hud with his buddy Ace. They really are great pals!

I woke up Saturday morning to these beautiful roses!

Aren't they beautiful?

Harper talking on the phone wanting a close-up.

Before our hot date.

At dinner. Notice the twinkling lights and the riverboat passing by. Ahhhh, romance!!

Right after we said our vows. Oh, I love this man!!
