Oh Hudson, Oh Hudson!!! I don't even know where to start with my big guy!! How can he be 3??? Where has the time gone? I started this blog when he was just 3 months old. WOW the time has flown by!!! Our big guy came to us as a HUGE surprise to us in November of 2004 when we found out we were pregnant. We weren't planning on starting a family for a couple of more years, so the "plans" we made for ourselves took a quick change. I had just started my first year teaching Kindergarten and was loving it. I always wanted to stay at home with my kids, but I also did not want to quite working because, after all, I had just started. To say I was a basket case would be an understatement. All the "what ifs", "are we ready?", "how can this be?", "what do we do now?"....well, they were ALL weighing heavy on my heart!!! Matt, on the other hand, was so calm and excited from the beginning. It took me seeing that little flicker of a heart beat on that screen at my first drs apointment (I had to see it to believe that I was actually really pregnant) to finally surrender to God's plans for our life. At that moment, on that drs. table, I was thrilled to be pregnant, and I was in love with that baby boy. I KNEW I was having a boy from the moment I found out I was pregnant. I just knew it. Matt, on the other hand, just 'knew' it was Harper Faith baking in the baby oven! Mama's intuition was right on!! God knew exactly what he was doing when he gave us Hudson Paul Mullins. It was at the perfect time in our lives, and we have loved every single moment of him. I love the way he makes every person in our family light up. I cannot imagine our life without this spunky 3 year old. He is as cute as a button, makes us laugh all day long, and has had my heart from the moment I held him in my arms.
As you can tell from the pictures above at 3 years old his imagination is BOOMING. He pretends all day long. He loves to be in full costume of whatever he is playing. He still loves his trucks and his action figure guys. He is becoming more and more independent (which can be a challenge at times), but I love every bit of the little boy he is becoming. I love spying on him while he is playing and hearing the conversation he is having with his toys. It is just so stinkin' cute. He LOVES pizza. Hands down is his favorite food. He has a BIG sweet tooth, and ice cream is his favorite just like his Daddy. He loves to play outside with all of his toys. Loves to swim, and loves Sea World. He has not mastered the 'l' sounds, 'g' sounds, or 'c' sounds....but I love the way he talks. It still makes him sound like a little boy to me. I know one day he'll just 'get it', but until then I am loving the way he says things.
My favorite times with Hudman during the day are when Harper is taking her morning nap and it is just our time together, after his afternoon nap because he wants me to hold him while he "wakes up", and night time when Daddy brings out the crazy, wild side of Hudson.
We have been reading the children's picture Bible to him a lot lately. His favorite stories are David and Goliath, Daniel and the Lion's den, and Noah's Ark. In the Noah's Ark Bible story it talks about Noah's character and how he was obident to God, and how Noah was a Godly man. After we finished reading it to him he sat there for a minute reflecting on the story, and Hudson looked up and said that when he get's bigger that he wants to be a Godly man just like Noah. It brought tears to my eyes because it was so innocent and so sweet. That is my daily prayer, to raise a son who loves Jesus as a child and grows to be a Godly man of character.
Hudson, HAPPY 3rd Birthday!!!! We are so proud of the fun, full-of-life, imaginative little boy that you are. You make us laugh and smile all the time. These past 3 years have FLOWN by, but I have to say that they have been 3 of the best years of my life. I love being your mommy!!! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you sooo much!!! Love, Daddy, Mommy, and Harp

ReplyDeleteI can't believe Hudson is already 3! He is just the cutest little boy. I loved all the pictures and especially the ones in order each year. He is SO lucky to have such amazing parents like you and Matt. We love ya'll!
ReplyDeleteWhere has the time gone? Has it really been 3 years since we were in the delivery room waiting anxiously for the arrival of our precious boy? I have so many blessings in my life, but without a doubt being Hudson's "J" is right up there at the top of the list. I thank God every day for my big guy and my baby girl. They are my life as well. The pictures bring back so many wonderful memories and his imagination is off the charts. It takes me back to when Paul wouldn't leave the house unless he was in full costume...Dick Tracy, Batman, Ninja Turtle, just to name a few. I love you Hudson with all of my heart. Have fun at camp...
ReplyDeleteLove,
"J"

ReplyDeleteIt has been such a previledge to see your Hudman grow and I look forward to seeing the many changes to come. Children are such a blessing and it is so great to see you and Matt being such wonderful parents. I remember the first and only time I met Hudson - it was at Jennifer's weeding and he was so tiny in his little carrier. I look forward to the day I can actually meet and see your kiddos' personalities.
