The Highlights!

This is a long re-cap with pictures, but I know if I don't do it now it'll be 2 weeks before I get it done!!! Ill be impressed if you make it to the end!!! HA! Oh, and if you find more type-o's than usual...forgive me! I'm in NO mood to proof read this entry!!! Very long!!!

The 4th of July: We had a great day. We went to a big 'fair' type celebration near down town. It was fun, but everything was WAAAY over priced. The music, rides, and the smell of fair food was all great. We came home grilled hamburgers and stayed in the rest of the day. Since it doesn't get dark until after 9 we just didn't make any firework shows. Maybe next year will be the year that we stay out for fireworks....I hope so!! Matt and I tackled one of our projects that night too. We painted our laundry room. It looks so good!!! I feel that every laundry room should be ANYTHING but white....well, actually my philosophy is that every room should be anything BUT white. Our FW laundry room was a bright bluey turquoise color. I LOVED IT!! Here our laundry room is right off the garage and isn't hidden like my other one was, so I could not have it too 'out there' in my color choice. We are happy with the out come. I told Matt that I now feel like it is actually a room in the house now. If you have a boring laundry room, I want to encourage you to make it a happy place by adding some COLOR to it!!!

My guys!!

Me and Harper

Hud after winning his dolphin.

Daddy and the almost 1 yr old!!

I love those open-mouthed, sloppy, wet kisses!!!

Laundry Room 3: I feel so organized!!

Harper's Birthday: What a great day it was!! We had so much fun just celebrating Harper. Hudson had fun too, and was so sweet to her! We woke her up that morning by the 3 of us singing happy bday to her. We all went to McDonalds for breakfast. Harper had a pancake and loved watching Hud play. The rest of the day was pretty laid back. We had a small polka dot cake made for her. She tore into it pretty good, and we all loved it! It was a special first Birthday with just the 4 of us!

The Birthday Girl at McDonalds!

Hud DYING for a piece of Harper's Cake!

Her very own cake!!

YUMMY!

And now bath time after they got all messy from the cake!!

The kids new Diego 'tent' with balls. They LOVE playing in this.

Harper loves her new stroller. She pushes it all over the place!!

The Day After: Mini, Papa, and cousins Kori Lynn and Micah got here late afternoon on Sunday. We were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for them to get here. Once they arrived Hudson and Harper got their 'big' birthday presents. Hudson got a toddler scooter with a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads. He LOVED it and hopped on like he always knew how to do it. Miss Harper got a car (thanks Shelley for the recommendation). It is so cute and pink. She LOVES her pink, big girl car. We immediately pulled out the out door toys for the kids and off we went on a walk down our street. We had fun playing with all our new toys!! We later came home, changed to our swimsuits and headed straight to our neighborhood pool. The kids had so much fun swimming. We got them all worn out and ready for a big day at Sea World!!

Having Birthday number 2! Thanks Crystal for the FUN party hat!!!

All decked out in his gear!

My BIG 1 year old in her new ride!! I had both kids shirts made with their numbers on them!! I think it is so cute having them 'representing' their new number!!!

Oh, she LOVED it!

He was a natural on that scooter!

All ready to go home now!

SEA WORLD DAY 1: We got up early Monday morning and off we went for a day at Sea World. If there is such a thing as a beautiful, cool July day then we sure experienced it! The temp was in the lower 80's with a breeze. It was perfect Sea World Weather! We saw all the shows but 1. It was a jammed packed day there, and it was so fun!!! When we got home it was raining hard, so the kids played in the rain for just a little bit.

Papa and Mini with their babies.

Micah and Kori sitting in the 'splash zone'.

A sleepy girl, twirling those curls, drinking her milk....BUT she is still going to make sure and watch the show.

Playing in the kiddie splash park.

They had fun!

Harper LOVES Kori (and Micah too)!! They make her smile and laugh all the time.

Kori was getting some great laughs out of her!

Look at those curls!!! I love them!

And she zonked out!!

The Sea Lion show!

Hud's Birthday Party: After Sea World we made it home and put the little kids down for a nap. Afterwards we went to Fuddruckers (aka: Papa's Favorite) for dinner. We came home and had a PIRATE party!!! Hudson had a blast!!! His cake was so cute. Hud dressed the part of a pirate (of course). He got some great toys from all of his grandparents. We also let Harper open up her gifts too!! It really turned out to be Christmas in July!! Hudson and Harper are so blessed to be so loved and adored by all of our family!!!

In his birthday shirt ready for Fuddruckers. Yes, he wore the helmet and pads to dinner!

Mini and Harper.

I think he was a bit worried about Papa's driving.

Kori and Hud waiting for dinner.

Playing on the toys.

Hud and his Pirate cake!!! He looks so cute in this picture!! I wonder who stuck his finger in the side of the cake??

Make a wish!!!

The pirate cake!

Our Family!

Mommy and the 'almost' 3 year old. His actual bday isn't until this Sunday the 13th.

The pirates grrring at the camera. Hud was too distrated by his cake.

Ready to open gifts. Notice how the fireman boots take on the role of whatever he is dressed as. Today they are pirate boots.

Harper opening her presents.

My college friend, Tara, came by. She was in town for her sister's wedding. She stayed and watched the Bachelorette Finale with us. It was a fun night!

My baby feeding her baby!

Playing with her new doll.

Hud in his new train conductor outfit!! That boy loves to dress up in his costumes!!!

The rest of the week plans!!!: Before I start with the rest of our plans, yesterday Mini, Papa and the kids went to the SA Zoo. Harper and I stayed behind. They were gone all day doing Zoo stuff. I don't have any pictures of that, but I am sure Mini took one.....or 2, or 50?? They got home and we all went to Chuy's for dinner. YUMM! (I have to say that last night we watched the after the rose part of the Bachelorette and my feelings totally changed. Go to my last blog entry for my new thoughts on that). This morning Mini and Papa with Kori and Micah left for the Alamo then were heading back to Sea World. Matt and I are meeting them up there after the kids naps at 3. We are going to stay until it closes at 8. We haven't done the night time stuff there yet. Matt and I are taking Micah and Kori on all the roller coasters....we are pumped. We are going to do the waterpark and see 2 more shows. There is a night time Shamu show that we plan on finishing our day with. I'm excited to do Sea World in the afternoon and evening. Tomorrow Mini, Papa, and the kids are leaving. Boo! We have had so much fun having them here. Thanks Cupps Family for sharing your 2 kiddos with us. We enjoyed them sooo much!!! I have to add that Micah is the BEST big brother. I have gotten a taste of it this week. He is so funny and so sweet with Harper. Such a helper!!! Tomorrow we are loading our crew up here and heading to Abilene for the weekend. We are going to have another bday party for Hud at Chuck-E-Cheese Saturday with family and friends....any Abiliene friends can come! We'd love to see you!!! We plan on going to Highland Sunday morning (we can't wait) then starting Kadesh Sunday evening. We are so excited to be away for a week at camp, and being in Abilene. We still love going back. It still feels like home in a since. We just love being there!! Matt's sister Lauren and her boyfriend Tyson are camp counselors there this summer, and my little sister will be there as a camper also. It is her last summer before she starts school at ACU in the fall!!! We can't wait to be around family, old friends, and coming home with a renewed mind and spirit!! It's just what we need!!!

On the way to Chuy's last night. They were watching Lion King. I love seeing them back there together.

A sweet moment before bed last night. Micah was reading Hud's night time Bible story. So sweet!!!

Maybe tonight I can add our Sea World pictures from today! We'll see. If not perhaps tomorrow!!! I hope you all enjoyed our recap and pictures from this past week!!! It's been such a fun week. I can't believe my kids are 1 and 3!!!! Be sure and check back (if you dare) for more pics!!!

Sea World Part 2: Yesterday morning Karen and Curtis left with Micah and Kori for the Alamo and Riverwalk. I stayed behind with H & H so we could wait on Matt to go to Sea World in the afternoon. I put them down early for their nap and they BOTH took a 3 HOUR nap. They were 2 tired kids!!! After their nap the 4 of us headed to SW! We were all so excited! We met up with the rest of the gang and off we went. Matt and I left with Kori and Micah to ride a few roller coasters. We figured out real quick that roller coasters weren't their thing like they thought they were. They both were terrified, and it was pretty funny watching Micah freak out. Right after we got off the first (and last) ride, Kori's nose started bleeding....no started GUSHING blood. It was horrible. She started crying, and Matt and I tried our best to get away from the crowd because we were making quite a scene. Her nose was so bloody that people were wanting to call the paramedics. Luckily we knew she get's bloody noses often because I think I would have freaked out. I took her to the bathroom and got her cleaned up and calmed down. (I thought I was either going to faint or throw up...it was horrible). We then left to go meet up with Mini, Papa, and Hud and Harper at the water park. We spent a few hours there. The kids had a blast. After it closed we went to the 4D night-time movie "the haunted lighthouse". Hud wanted no part of it, so he rested! We had our quick picnic dinner right after, then spent the rest of our time there in the kiddie park. The 3 kids had so much fun ridding rides and running around everywhere. We didn't make it to the night time Shamu show because they all wanted to ride rides instead. I can't blame them!! Hud and I rode HIS very first roller coaster together 3 times in a row (we didn't even get out of our seats). He LOVED it and screamed the entire time. We bought the picture afterwards!!!

Yesterday was a blast. I actually like going in the afternoon and evening much better than when we go in the morning. Again, the weather here was PERFECT!! It's rained everyday this week and really cooled it off around here!! We are so glad everyone came and that they are willing to make the drive to see us down here in SA! It's been a great week and I know my kids had so much fun playing with their cousins!! I hope this becomes a summer tradition!!! Here are the last of our week in pictures!!!

Harper playing on the starfish in the lil' gator area!

They were having fun!

Coming to check in on us.

Hud and Kori's favorite area. The 'splash attack' area.

He was having a great time.

Kori getting soaked at the splash attack!

The 4D movie!

Sneaking a kiss.........

Hud just snuggled with me during the movie. I was ok with that.

Round and Round.........

Hud wasn't too sure about this ride. It's like the tea cups at Disney World.

The picture we bought after the roller coaster!

Time to go!!

That is ONE PACKED stroller.

It's over and we had a BLAST!!!

Now if you made it thru this give yourself a BIG pat on the back!!!! We are off to Abilene tomorrow, so this is it for now!!!!!

  9. Hi, I'm Taryn- a friend of Tracey's. I read your blog occasionally. I am just curious, do you develop all the pictures you take? I am a picture nut as well. I take a lot of pictures. I also have two little ones who are almost 3 yrs and 4 months. You seem to have such fun and are so organized with matching things and such. How do you do it? When your little girl was born and a young infant, how did Hudson do with her and how did you keep him out of her room when she was sleeping. I don't yet have my 4 month old in her own room partly because I'm afraid I will find my other daughter in the crib with her when I wake up in the morning. Our room is at the other end of the house and the girl's rooms are right next to each other. What did you do? I do use a monitor but I'm still worried.

  10. Thanks for the info. It was so nice of you to respond. I'll check on those door knob covers. It's not so much nap time as it is the morning wake up. Ella is an early riser and half the time I don't even hear her get up. Thanks so much.
