I love you CABO!
OH MY, did we ever have an amazing time!!! We vegged out the ENTIRE week. We read, played, ate, and rested all week long. Cabo is just beautiful. We had never been to a Mexico beach before and we loved it!! It was 'take your breath away' gorgeous. The waves were enormous. I felt at times that I was married to an elementary kid {kidding} because Matt playing in those waves was hysterical. We left the resort 3 times. Tuesday we went zip-lining thru the canopy/canyons. It was such a thrill and such a blast! We LOVED it. By far a highlight of the week. We went with 4 other couples and it ended up being a really fun group. The SCARIEST part was at the end when we had to repel down the side of a mountain. I had NO idea that was part of the deal. The mountain was ENORMOUS, and just 'stepping off' and hopping down it was almost more than I could take. BUT I DID IT, and I was SO proud at the end. I felt like I was on "the amazing race" or something. Then Wednesday evening we met up with a couple from Plano that Matt knew from work when we lived there. It just so happened they were vacationing a few resorts down from us, so that was fun having dinner with them. Then Thursday Matt and I kayaked over across the beach to 'lovers beach'. It is the southern most tip of the Baja peninsula. Lovers beach is the place that most Cabo advertisements show pictures of. The people over there said it was a 'must see'....and it was!! It was AMAZING and sooo beautiful!! By far the HUGEST waves I have ever seen in my life over there. It was quite the adventure kayaking across the ocean, but a wonderful experience for sure! The rest of our time was spent on the resort. We woke up early everyday and were usually the first one's to the beach. We got some great sun and never got burned. We had such a wonderful 'honeymoon' and we felt like we fit right in with all the honeymooners surrounding us. You would have never known we had 5 years under our belt!! :) It was so great to be alone together with no schedule but our own. We missed the kids a lot, but it didn't 'hurt' until the latter part of the week. By Friday evening it was almost unbearable. Seeing those sweet smiles Saturday night was the best part of the trip. We could not wait to see our Hudman and Harper. They had a BLAST with Mini and Papa. They played hard and had a vacation here in San Antonio too! We never worried about them for one minute! I am sooo thankful that we have family so willing to pitch in and help us out with Hudson and Harper. They too know the importance of our getting away, and with no hesitation offer to help us out. We are blessed! Thank you soooooooooo MUCH Curtis and Karen for keeping the kids for us. We had a blast!!!
And now for our week in PICS!!!!
All ready for the zip-line, baby!
What a look, huh?
All fired up and ready to go!
Matt all ready!
What can I say, I'm a pro at this!

I won the last race!!
The rock mountain we repelled down!!! You can see the little deck you have to step off of. Horrible!!
A view from our resort. People went horse back riding all week. It was so fun watching them.

Right in between the 2 mountains is 'lovers beach' where we kayaked.

Ok I can't believe I am doing this but I just have to. I found your blog through a friend of a friend of a friend. Many months ago. Weird I know. Yes I am a Blog "Stalker". My name is BJ Maddox and I am married to Jeff Maddox. Jeff and your dad are cousins. Your dad's mom Katherine was my mother-in-laws sister. My mother-in-laws name is Barbara Maddox. We live in Katy just West of Houston. My mother-in-law lives in Houston about 40 minutes north of us. I have enjoyed your blog for a really long time and have never had the courage to say anything. We spent several days with your dad and Shelly a couple of years ago when we evacuated Houston for another hurricane. We had the best time with them. They were so much fun to be with. Jeff, my husband who I guess would be your second cousin has always thought your dad was HILARIOUS!!! You have an absolutely beautiful family. I read your blog daily. Hope I haven't scared you. This is all so weird to me. I hope that you and your husband had a great time in Cabo. We love Mexico! I feel so much better now! Whew!!!
