This and that.......

The kids have been sick. I am NOT ready for the 'sick time of year'. I just don't do well (and they don't either) being all cooped up in the house. We all go stir crazy! Well, a bug has hit us. The kids have been gross snotty for a few weeks now. Their allergies are HORRIBLE here. SOO BAD. I never wanted to be that mom who had the snotty nosed kids who never wiped it. WELL, I'm not, but I appear to be that way. I'll wipe a nose and 5 seconds later turn around and Harper's snot is hanging past her chin, and all the while she has the biggest grin on her face like it's no big deal. Hudson has FINALLY learned to blow his nose, so he hasn't been too bad. Probably one of the things that I despise more than anything is holding my child down with all my might and using the aspirator on their nose. It's brutal. I have to tell you tho, I have gotten really good at it....and I have a system that works! It might appear mean or abusive, but I assure you it isn't!

After all this yucky allergy stuff going on it some how turned into a bug. Thursday I took them in and they both got on medicine. They both started feeling better, but then on Sunday Harper took a turn for the worse. Her fever got higher and she was just pitiful. So I loaded up both kids and went BACK to the dr yesterday. Harper has developed an ear infection. They also wanted to have blood work done too......which was a nightmare as you can imagine. Poor Hud just sat with his batman, and his eyes were HUGE as he watched Harper scream. It took them 4 tries to get a vein. Pure torture for that baby girl. I just sang songs to her over and over in her ear while they did this. As soon as we left, Matt called and I just burst into tears. It was one of those times that you could have gone to the toy store and said 'whatever you want' to both kids. Hudson was BEYOND good, and sweet Harper was such a trooper. Thankfully today is a better day, and she seems to be back to her old self. To make matters worse she has 4 teeth coming in. This makes 16 teeth for our little shark. Hopefully this will be all the teeth for a long while! So now it is time for "germ-a-phobe" Allison to step it up. Gotta wash those big and small hands ALL the time, scrub those toys, and disinfect everything in sight!

Onto other news.......My big boy Hud is on week 3 in sleeping thru the night without a pull-up. This is HUGE. He is so excited to go to bed in big boy underwear....and then to wake up dry everyday is a BIG DEAL! He's such a big boy!! Soccer has been good for him. There are some sweet kids on the team, and we have enjoyed meeting their parents. He will run around for a while then stop and wave to us, or pick his nose.....seriously. But it's so fun and as long as he is having fun we'll keep on! I love watching these kids play. It is hysterical. We love going to the games.

Here are a few pictures from the last week or so!

At the park.

I love when Hud wants to sit with his baby sister. I always grab the camera when he climbs up beside her!
