Kitchen: Before and After.......

It is FINISHED!!! We are so excited and love it! It's been a work in progress for over a month now. Everything you see below is brand spankin new. We did not get new cabinets tho. We hired a painter to come out and paint, and then I just added new knobs. We have been saving up and 'visualizing' this kitchen since we moved in in Feb. Our house is 10 years old and the kitchen is where you could tell it the most. It was HORRIBLE! I wanted to strike a match to it to all the old stuff once it was gone! I fell in love with this house the moment we walked in it, but I told Matt "ummm, that ENTIRE kitchen HAS to go!" If you know my very conservative banker of a husband then you know that we had to wait and save. If it were my call we would have taken out a Lowes credit card back in Feb and just paid it off all these months. After this huge financial fiasco the country is in now I appreciate his 'no charging' mentality. He's better than me FOR SURE when it comes to money!! I guess that makes us a good pair!! Sooo enjoy the pictures!!!

We also bought new pictures to hang above the cabinets. I think it looks great.

See how our den and kitchen is one room. The kitchen BEFORE made the den look bad because it was so horribly ugly.

We extended the bar right here. This is Hud's place to eat.

A THORN in my side! I bleached that ugly sink ALL the time. It would NEVER look clean. I just put the dishes in the dishwasher....sorry it looks splochy.

The stained glass hanging was my grandfathers. He used to build churches and it came from a church he did. AND the paint was done by my BEYOND wonderful mother-in-law. She is my hero when it comes to painting!!! She's a heaven-sent for sure!!

Coffee bar!

  8. I love it! It gives me ideas for the new kitchen I will soon have. The countertops and sink are my favorites!

We just found out that we will be spending about 6 weeks in San Antonio starting in mid-November for Boone's pediatric rotation. Hopefully, we can get together sometime.

  9. WOW! What a difference! I LOVE it! Having a great kitchen makes cooking and doing dishes almost fun!!! You guys did a great job picking everything out! I am sure it was difficult to endure all the mess and construction during the process, but it looks like it was totally worth it! Congratulations!! :)

  10. That looks awesome!! My white ceramic sink is my arch nemesis too...no matter how much I bleach it, it always looks dirty. Someday maybe I'll be able to redo my kitchen too. :)
