So I have had a lot of questions and comments about the canvases above our bed. Instead of writing you all individually, I figured this would be the easiest way to answer you!
When Hudson was a baby, before the blog, I started uploading my pictures to winkflash. It was an easy way to send out picture of the kids and it allowed family to print off pictures that they liked and wanted. It is similar to snapfish or shutterfly. I signed up for their newsletters with things that are discounted and new products that they were promoting. About 2 to 3 times a year they put their canvases on sale. Mine are the 12x12 and regularly they are 36.99, but when they go on sale they are 40% off which makes a HUUUGE difference. They are like 22 a piece (I think). My collection started out with just 3 of Hudson that my beautiful sister-in-law, Lauren, took of Huddy at his 1st birthday party. (the bottom left pic, and on the top row from the left the 2nd and 4th picture). Then when Harper came along we added 3 more. In December we ordered 7 more. 6 for the bedroom and then 1 12x18 that I have by my coffee maker. So if you get them on sale it saves so much money. We would just rather spend money on these rather than some piece of artwork that we'll be tired of in a few years. I know you can get canvases made tho at other places like walmart and Sams too. It's worth checking out. We have just slowly added to them and I LOVE them so much. It really is my favorite wall in our house. Each picture is sweet and holds a special memory. I know I'll always have them somewhere in our house in years ahead.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll just respond in my comments on this entry!!!
That is such a great idea! You are so good, I am jealous! I would love to have the "eye of the decorator", and also to think to use such precious pictures as pieces of art...it's great!

ReplyDeleteHi, again-
ReplyDeleteLooking back at your blog of your remodeled kitchen, I noticed your EVERYTHING plate. That is such a neat idea. Where did you get that if you don't mind me asking? I love all your decorating ideas and love looking at pictures of your home to get ideas for myself. I hope you don't mind.??
Taryn
beautiful idea! You are so stinkin' creative!
ReplyDeleteHi Taryn, My 'Happy Everything' plate is from a cute store here in San Antonio called Moon Mippy. Matt and the kids got it for me for Mother's day. There is a website called www.cotoncolorspottery.com that sells it there. Thanks for your sweet compliment!
