18 months old!!! Where has the time gone?? Matt and I were talking about how the kids are at their 1/2 birthday mark and we don't know what is sadder: that their birthday's were 6 months ago or that they will be 2 and 4 in just 6 months.
Harper is at the fun age where she is exploring everything and constantly saying new words. She is so funny too. Her little since of humor is so cute. We are constantly laughing at the things she does and says. She knows all the animals and their sounds, body parts, family members and friends names, the basics hi (or how she says HIIIIIIEY), bye bye, hello, baby, puppy, Jesus, Jesus loves me, 'bless you' after a sneeze, thank you, no (or NNNNNNNNNO with her pouty lips), yes, please (peas), grapes, juice, milk, night night, bay (blanket), bow, play, toys..........just to name a few!!! It's funny you really don't realize how many words they really know until you start writing them down. What a big girl she is. She can complete a task we ask of her too. If I tell her to put her books away she will, or to go grab a diaper, go get your sippy cup....etc.
At 18 months old Harper loves to PLAY. She loves to be outside with her big brother, and she loves to play in our zoo (the playroom). She loves her babies and is so gentle with them when she rocks or feeds them. She loves Hud's batcave and batman figures as well as his Pirate ship. (yeah, that goes over REAL well). She love's Hudson's out door toys too. Hands down, Harper's most favorite thing is books. She loves to read and to be read to. She will sit in our laps and read book after book after book. Her favorites are books about babies and animals. She is not content reading beside you, she HAS to be in your lap when we read to her. (It's pretty cute). She loves to hug and kiss, and she still squeals with delight when she is happy! Matt and I volunteer monthly for the kids classes at church. We love to watch our little sponge as they praise and have their bible lesson. It is too precious! She is little Miss Independent in class! She sleeps with her 'bay' and twirls her curls as she drinks her sippy cup. We know she is sleepy when those fingers are twirling her curls! She is a great sleeper. She goes to bed at 8 and wakes up between 7:30-8. Harper also takes a good 2-2.5 hr nap every afternoon.
Even tho Harper is the sweetest 18 month old I know, she can be quite the drama queen and knows how to throw a serious fit. If her feelings were hurt, she can turn those floodgates on in NO time. And if she is mad she can lay face down on the floor and throw her fit. It's actually funny (or not funny to0) because while she is throwing her fit she'll stop and look up to see if we are watching....and then she'll keep on throwing her fit.
Hudson and I have been working on sounding out words and letter sounds. Well, Harper is almost always in the room when we are playing with letters. So now Harper says, 'm' 'm' 'm' MOMMY! 'd' 'd' 'd' Daddy! 'b' 'b' 'b' BUBBA! She sounds out every word. It really is so funny. Our Christmas company really had fun with her sounding out words.
At 18 months old Harper weighed in at 22.4 lbs (18%) and 32" (60%). She was healthy as a horse, and developmentally doing great. Her favorite foods are any type of fruit and pasta. She is not a hearty meat eater or veggie eater. We are working on getting (both kids) getting more of the green stuff in their diets!
We LOVE our baby girl, and we are so thankful everyday that she is ours. After having Hudson all I wanted was boys because he was so much fun, and I loved everything 'boy'. I am thankful God had other plans for our family because I cannot imagine our life without her. My heart just swells with joy for my 2 babies!
Mommy and her snuggle bug!
***Up next, Huddy at 3 and 1/2 years old! How can that be????***
Too cute. I can't believe our girl is 18 months old. Where has the time gone? She is just precious and takes me back in time to when you were a baby, Allison. How can it be that my baby has these two wonderful babies??? What a blessing they are to us.
