Part 2...New Years Week

After Christmas we got up early Friday and went to Ft. Worth (where we met Jose, Angie, and Hannah for lunch). It was the BIG weekend of my friend Amanda's wedding. She got married the 27th and I had the privilege of being her matron of honor. It was a beautiful wedding and she was a beautiful bride. Sadly I did not take too many pictures so you'll just have to take my word for it!

We left Ft. Worth about 8 on Saturday right after Amanda and Dusty's wedding. We were SOOO ready to be home. Sooooo READY! We were home right before midnight and had the kids in their own bed without even waking them up.

Matt's family was coming on Tuesday so we spent our time alone as a family of 4 just vegging out. We shopped some, went to the zoo, rented movies, did house projects, and played with new toys. We were just happy to be home together.

Tuesday night Matt's fam drove in. Papa, Mini, Lissa, Lala, and Tyson.... We got up New Years Eve morning had a yummy breakfast taco breakfast and headed to SEA WORLD. I have to say HANDS DOWN this was my favorite day at Sea World this year. The weather was beautiful (a little chilly, but when you are used to dripping with sweat before you even enter the park chilly was WONDERFUL). The park was decorated all holiday-ish. The shows were so cute and were to Christmas songs. We saw a 30 min clip of "The Polar Express" in 3D...it even snowed in the end which was so fun. Matt, Melissa, Tyson and I went and rode 2 roller coasters and just walked on them. They were SO MUCH FUN. I had not been on a roller coaster since Disneyland in 06.....it was a blast! The best thing about it was that it wasn't too crowded and the weather was just perfect. I am excited to make this a yearly tradition. It was definitely a highlight of our holiday.

We had New Years Eve dinner on the Riverwalk which is always fun. We came home and opened presents and most everyone was asleep by 10. I am happy to say that even tho we were in our jammies in bed, Matt and I watched the ball drop. I'm not sure that we have done that in quite a while.

New Years day the boys went fishing and kayaking the Guadalupe River while us girls (and kids) hit up La Cantera. We had a great time shopping the JCREW sale. In fact we only went to 2 stores that day. After the kids naps we all loaded up and went to Gruene for dinner. They had never been, so eating at the Gristmill was such a treat!! We celebrated Curtis' birthday there too!

Friday we went back to La Cantera and spent the day shopping. We had lunch at PF Changs which was so goooood! Then Matt, Mel, Lauren, Tyson, and I went to see 7 Pounds with Will Smith. It was good.

Saturday we all left and drove to San Marcus for the outlet mall. We all got some great steals. We said our goodbyes after our Cracker Barrel lunch and drove home. Matt and I spent the rest of the day taking down our Christmas stuff (why is that such a great feeling??), and enjoyed our last day and 1/2 of Matt's vacation.

We had such a great break! We were so ready to get back in our 'normal' routine again. We had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Years!! I wonder what 2009 will bring???

And now the last of the pictures.......

Boy, I have them trained good, huh?? No really, my feet were KILLING me after Amanda's wedding. The shoes I were were horrible to my feet. Matt was rubbing them and Hud wanted to help.....sweet boys!

Yes! Kaylee is pregnant with her third child. I don't think I could do 3 kids under 3 but she has no fear. Monday they were hoping to find out the sex but he or she kept their legs together. Maybe next time they can see. We are thinking it will be another boy. LOL!

Loved all the pictures and cant get over how beautiful Harper's eyes are. She looks just like you. They are both precious!

I loved seeing all of your pictures! I must admit... when I read your closer "I wonder what 2009 will bring?" I was hoping to see a sonogram picture at the end! Another Mullins would be a fun surprise! :) Love you!

  5. Well, if our plans go as planned no #5 will happen in 09...

Since we have had so many 'life-changes' each year, it's fun to wonder what will be in 2009.
