Christmas 2010

Christmas Eve

Our Christmas weekend was wonderful.  It was just our little family of 4 spending time together.  Christmas Eve we got out (shhh...don't tell my dr).  We ran to La Cantera to buy our little Holton a 'coming home' outfit, got me some new pj's for the hospital, got my hair trimmed, and grabbed a late lunch at Grimaldis (only the best pizza there ever was).  It was so nice to get out, and it was surprisingly empty everywhere we went.  I also had a late afternoon pedicure which was much needed and soooo nice.

We spent our evening decorating cookies, having hot chocolate with ALL the toppings you could possibly want, & watching the movie Prancer.  I have never seen 2 kids more excited and READY for Santa.  It was a really windy evening, so every single noise Hudson just knew it was Santa.  He asked if he could go to bed about 45 minutes too early because he did not want Santa to come and see him still awake.  It was too funny.  When it was finally bed time, Hudson let out a HUGE "YESSSS!!!!"  That was a first.  My mom read "The Night Before Christmas" (one of those recordable books) to the kids, and then they were OUT.

Santa spent many late nights last week putting together 1,000 pieces of Star Wars Legos as well as put together a Razor Rip-Rider for Hudman.  Matt and I had a lot of fun getting everything set out just perfect for the kids.  We could not wait for Christmas morning.
I love those little faces.

The kids slept until 7:15 which was great!!  Oh-my-goodness they were SO EXCITED (we were too).  We made them wait up stairs until we were all ready for them and then gave them the "OK" to look over the ledge.  The Ohhs and Ahhhs were so cute as well as their BIG eyes.  I don't think I have ever seen them make it down stair so fast.

It's only appropriate that Daddy is in this picture too.  The sweet thing worked so hard (6+ hours) on ALL of these Lego creations.

THE SW Legos.

Harper's new JUNGLE!

Our puzzle girl.  She could lay on her tummy and work on puzzles for hours.

Harper ripped through her presents like a steam train.  Santa brought her a Jungle Tree House full with many new animals.  She got several princess items that she loves.  Puzzles, pajamas, books, & a Go Diego Go Wii game.

Hudson took his time enjoying each present.  He was in no hurry.  He was THRILLED with his new Star Wars Legos.  This year is the YEAR of Star Wars for our big 5 year old.  From his birthday party to Christmas---that is his big thing.  He got the "Battle of Endor" & Emperor Palpatine's Ship (both Legos), many new Star Wars figures, SW books, Batman Wii game, pj's, clothes, & the Razor Rip-Rider.

Hud on his new Razor.  This is the coolest thing.  It spins in 360 degrees & cannot flip.  He spun all over the culdesac yesterday.  It was so much fun.

I just happened to catch this moment.  Hud was getting off and just gave Matt the sweetest, biggest hug out of no where. Just melted my heart.

Princess Harper in her new Cinderella pajamas.

They both were in Heaven, & had a blast all day playing.  We were all exhausted at the end of the day.  It was a wonderful Christmas.  It really just gets more and more fun with each passing year.  Their JOY is so contagious.

I have said all along that I wanted to make it to Christmas with this pregnancy.  We are officially READY for Holton to come.  I am beyond ready.  He is welcome to join us any time he wants.  We are so excited.  We talk about him all of the time, and it's hard to believe that he'll be here soon.  I can't wait to see the kids with their baby brother.  It is something I think about all of the time.  What JOY that is ahead!!!

  3. I love that Hudson is just a few months older than Jake, because 9 times out of 10, seeing what H is up to has prepared me for what Jake is fixing to be into or doing. :) Ha! I guess I better get ready for Star Wars! Anyhow, glad yall had a great Christmas. Looks like the kids were beyond excited! Such sweet memories. Glad yall are doing well. So very thrilled to watch your family grow in just a few days!!! :)
