Farewell to 2010, Hello 2011!!

I cannot believe tomorrow is January 1, 2011.  What a year 2010 was.  It was full of wonderful highs and some soul-searching lows.  I feel like both of the kids grew up so much over this past year.  I can thumb through pictures and get so teary-eyed because they have changed and grown so much.  Of course, I had to add a few of my favorites from 2010.
HARPER IS POTTY TRAINED!!!  What a way to start the year!
Last January we changed our last diaper for an entire year.  Had a great time celebrating Harper's BIG GIRL achievement with a panty party.  I haven't packed a diaper bag in over a year, or loaded a stroller in my car.  We bought our first box of Pampers at SAMS the other day.  I forgot how TINY those sweet little newborn diapers are & how sweet they smell of baby powder.  Matt was putting a trash bag in our Diaper Champ the other day and looked at me and said, "am I really going to be taking diapers out again every week?"  It seems so surreal that we are going back to the baby stage again.  We are ready, and so excited.

Not sure what it is with my kids and the pointy finger....but I love it.

What a day, what a day!  I can remember sitting on the edge of the bath tub crying because I was in such shock.  What a blessing this little miracle is!
I'm still VERY pregnant.  I feel like I will either POP or he will flat bust out on his own.  I really am at the point where I do not think there is any more room in my body for this growing baby.  My body hurts.  When he moves you can see it. I can see his little booty pop out on my right side.  I can see his feet try to push their way out down on my lower left side.  I can see an elbow glide across my tummy.  It feels like a FULL grown little human is in there.

Thankfully, this past week my blood pressure has dropped back into a good range (this blood pressure has a mind of it's own).  As miserable as I am, I want to stay pregnant as long as Holton will let me.  Even though I know he is fully formed, I know the last few weeks of pregnancy are so important.  More than anything I want to leave the hospital with him in tow.  Unless my BP takes another turn, we are going to ride this thing out until mid Jan.  My new goal is 2 more weeks.

Our precious 3 year old.

we had a VERY successful summer of swimming lessons.

I still can't believe our little Jedi is 5.

Harper moved into our guest room and it became her 'BIG girl room'.

Aug. 5---my precious nephew Camden was born.

IT'S A BOY!  That was such a fun and memorable day for us all.

Such a sweet moment with my girl...glad I had my iphone with me.
We are so excited about 2011 (and I am ready for it).  We cannot wait to welcome our sweet boy to the world so early in the new year.  I know each month of this year will be so special and full of many firsts for him.  We are ready to be immersed back into the world of baby-hood.  I cannot wait to see Hudson become a BIGGER brother and Harper to experience being the BIG sister.  One exciting vacation we are looking forward to is our Disney World trip in May.  We are going with Matt's parents, and are super pumped about it.  The kids are already bouncing off the walls with excitement.  This is Hudson's "going to Kindergarten" vacation.  We hope to take a Disney trip before they each go to Kindergarten.  I don't know where Matt and I will go this year to get away alone together, but we are busy brainstorming.  We also have a BIG wedding to look forward to in April.  Matt's sis and SF (special friend or special fiance...or both) are getting married in Palestine.  It'll be a wonderful weekend.  We hope to make it back to Abilene this summer for a week at Kadesh.  We hated to miss last year.  I am so looking forward to all the new and exciting things that this year will hold.

My New Year's Resolution (other than feel like me again) is to join Beth Moore in her 2011 challenge to memorize 24 scriptures (2 per month) in a year.  I have done several of her Bible studies and one constant theme throughout them all is how she encourages you to be IN the word, and to memorize scripture.  It'll transform your mind.  I am taking the Spring off from my Tuesday Women's Bible Study at church just to have that extra day home with the kids.  So I am committing to the 2011 challenge!  I am doing it along side 6 of my girlfriends here.  We each will choose a verse and memorize it together.  I am looking forward to committing to this spiritual discipline and the accountability with my girlfriends.  (Matt is also doing it with me too)!  I am excited to share the verses I'll be memorizing with you.

Here's to a FANTASTIC 2011!!!
