WOW--already time for our 4th verse. So far so good! The only thing I am struggling with is the 'address' of the verses. In the end, God knows where they are from so I am not going to get all frenzied over it. It's amazing how God gave our minds the ability to retain His word so easily. I find this far easier than I originally thought it would be. It makes me think about the times when I have volunteered at Kadesh (an ACU Leadership Camp) and one of our service projects would be to go to an Alzheimer's facility to love on the residents and sing to them. Many did not know their names or anything of their past, but the moment we started singing "Amazing Grace", they did not miss a beat. It was as if those words went somewhere beyond just their memory and went to their 'soul memory'. I hope these scriptures that we are memorizing are becoming 'soul memory verses'.
Here's a recap along with my new verse:
- 1--Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
- 2--Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for you souls. Matthew 11:28-29
- 3--So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
- 4--The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
My friend Ashleigh chose this verse for us this time. I love what she wrote this morning in her e-mail to us, "We serve a God who indeed is MIGHTY! I love that he sings over each of us and takes great delight in us! Enjoy, I hope it blesses you!"
Those verses are great. I love all of them but #3 especially stood out to me :) Congrats on your sweet new baby- how exciting!
