Holton at 5 months

My baby boy is 5 months old today.  5 MONTHS OLD...WOW.  First of all, I cannot believe it's summer time.  I cannot believe we are in the middle of June.  That in a few weeks it will be Christmas in July.  (2 birthdays and our anniversary).  I cannot believe that this time next month I will have a 6 year old (on the 13th), a 4 year old (the 5th), and a baby that is 1/2 a YEAR!  I don't think time has ever flown faster than this.  It pains my heart that Holton's newborn-ness is behind us, but in all honesty, we are having the time of our life with him right now.  He is at the most precious age.  He lights up a room, I tell ya!
Our little rolly-poly boy!
Holt and the precious Elynn.  I have these 2 married.  HA!  We are in the same life group with this family, and they are some of our dearest friends too!  It's so fun watching these two grow together each month.  (they are a little over 2 wks apart).

sitting like a froggy!

if you are around this little guy, you can count on a mouth covered in drool & a soaking wet shirt.  And if you hold him, well I hope you like a wet shoulder!!

Over this last month Holton:
  • started rolling over.
  • plays in his exersaucer
  • can sit up like a froggy
  • found his toes
  • regressed some in his beautiful sleeping pattern.  (boo).
  • is working on his bottom teeth.  (I can see them, but they haven't broken through yet).
  • drools unlike any human being that I have ever seen in my life.
  • had his first night up stairs in his room.
  • goes to the church nursery.
  • his hair grew back.
  • is a champ when it comes to running errands & being drug all over the place at all times of the day.
  • puts himself to sleep if we lay him in his bed.  (He's probably breathing a sigh of relief thanking me that it's not his car seat).
  • has become very vocal.  He 'talks' to us all the time...and loudly I might add.
  • wears 9-12 month clothing (a few 6 months too depending on the brand).
  • size 3 diapers
  • still proves to be the smiliest, happiest baby boy.
One of those moments I was glad my IPhone was near.  Oh how I love those 3 little heads right there.

Another great IPhone pic!
We did put him up in his room this past month.  It was pretty sad (for me).  I'm not kidding I could have sobbed my eyes out.  Ridiculous, I know.  It just felt like such a big move.  Going into my room that night and seeing that empty pack and play was sad to me.  However, Holton slept great that first night in his bed.  I'm sure he loved all of the room.  Like I mentioned above, he has regressed a little in his sleeping habits.  He goes down around 9 and sleeps between 4 & 5.  (It used to be until almost 7).  So this makes it kind of tough to go upstairs & get him.  (His room is the farthest room from us).  Once he eats he goes right back to sleep for several more hours.  He's still a really great sleeper, and I cannot complain one bit!  I still put him in our room from time to time just because it's convenient, but we are working towards him being up there full time.  I give myself an E for effort!!

Holton has almost fully outgrown his infant carrier.  I just don't know what I am going to do about that.  He sleeps so good in it, and will stay asleep after we get where we are going.  It does not phase him one bit.  I am hoping we can at least make it until the end of summer.

I could eat this baby boy up with a spoon!  We all could.  I am so thankful for his precious little life, and these past 5 FAST months!!

look at those feet!!  aren't they so kissable!!??
