NYC--DAY 3

Tuesday was especially fun and romantic.  We had breakfast at Max Brenner's---FABULOUS....then we headed to Central Park.  It was a beautiful morning.  We walked around, took a rowboat out on the little lake, and sat on a park bench and people watched.  It felt so good outside that I could have sat on that bench all day.

We only had a few hours to spend at Central Park because we had to head over to the....

YES---we landed the "HOTTEST TICKET IN TELEVISION" and got to be in the audience to see The Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN.  The world of Facebook already knows this news, but a few days before we were scheduled to leave town I got a call from the Ed Sullivan Theater regarding the request for tickets I submitted months ago.  I was in total shock and SO NERVOUS because I had to answer a Late Show trivia question to receive the tickets.  I was a nervous WRECK!  Thankfully it was easy enough for me to answer and we got the tickets!  The show was a BLAST.  It was great....such an experience.  Our seats were great too.  We were right down in the front of the audience in front David's desk.  He was so funny and Paul Shaffer & the CBS orchestra was SO entertaining.  We saw Selma Hayek (who was adorable and funny), Kieth Olbermann (who was super funny), and the band was Jane's Addiction---HORRENDOUS!   Do people really like that kind of music???  The energy of being in the audience was an experience within itself.  There were several people we talked to who have tried for years to get to be in the audience.  It was a definite highlight of our trip!!  (Did you know that the Late Show is recorded in the middle of the day??  I didn't either).

After Letterman we headed out for dinner at China Grill.  It's a restaurant we went to years ago when I graduated high school.  One thing that I remember after all of those years is their crispy spinach--
This is flash fried spinach that melts in your mouth like cotton candy.  It is unlike anything you have ever tasted in-your-life.  Dinner was romantic and delicious.

After dinner we headed back to Rockefeller Center to catch game 5 of the World Series and have coffee and dessert.  It was a perfect ending to another perfect day!
