Christmas Part 3: GRAMMY AND DADDY POP'S HOUSE

On Tuesday after I went to baking school with my Aunt Jean we loaded up the suburban and headed to Grammy and Daddy Pops' house.  We had a wonderful time there and it was the perfect ending to a great week with family.  I did not end up with too many pictures because Grammy tore her cornea that week and was in a terrible amount of pain and two Holton started feeling bad.  It was one of those times that you kept thinking everyone would start feeling better and then you would snap some great pictures.  Oh well, needless to say, we had a wonderful time.  I love being out at their house.  It is so cozy.  My dad always has the fire going, and I love looking out and seeing the lake and the beautiful sunsets.  You just feel like you are away---it's so nice.

Our Christmas was wonderful with them.  Hudson got a 'big kid' bike.  Full with 'hand breaks and a kickstand' just like he hoped for.  Harper got an assortment of new animals and a cat keyboard that she loooves.  Holty got several new toys that he was one happy boy over.  Camden was so cute getting his new presents.  He is at such a fun age too.  And oh my goodness is he ever hilarious.

Our original plan was to stay in Tyler and head home on Friday.  Well, we had a few rough nights with Holton throughout the week, but Wednesday night took the cake.  He was up almost every hour on the hour all night long just crying his little eyes out.  Matt and I did not know what to do, but our gut said we probably needed to get home.  So Thursday we got up and got all of our stuff together and packed up.  Thankfully we have such a sweet, understanding family who did not mind our having to cut them short a day.  We made it back to SA Thursday evening and I had Holton a drs apt for 1st thing on Friday morning.  Let me tell you one thing about Holton Mullins---when he is sick, he is HAPPY.  He hardly fusses if at all.  He does NOT run a fever when he is ill (isn't that strange??).  He grins from ear to ear and plays, and you do not know if something is wrong with him.  The only time I get a red flag is during the night.  Sometimes I would give anything for a courtesy fever from him just so I would KNOW for a fact he is sick...half of the time I am just guessing.  So we took him to the dr on Friday and alas both ears are infected.  This makes ear infection #4 for him since Sept.  The doctor said there is no way he'll survive the rest of cold and flu season at this rate especially with Hudson and Harper bringing home every germ known to man to him.  He is schedule to have a consultation next Thursday with an ENT to have tubes put in his ears.  Hopefully it'll be scheduled shortly after that.  I am heartbroken over this because we have never had to do this before with the kids.  I know it is such a routine thing, but still it breaks my heart.  I am so glad it will make him feel better.  Everyone tells me the difference they see in their children immediately.  Anything to help his poor ears to feel better will be worth it.  I'll be glad when this is behind us.  Please keep Holty in your prayer and his precious little ears.  You just hate anyone so tiny to have to go under any type of anesthesia...even if it is for 10 minutes.

---So after all of that being said, we were glad we trusted our gut and came on home on Thursday.  We had a great week with our entire family.  The kids had so much fun.  When we were leaving Plano the kids did not want to leave because they were having such a great time, when we were leaving J's they did not want to go, when we were leaving Grammy and Daddy Pops' house they begged to stay another day.... I am so thankful that they love their grandparents and love their family so much.  It really makes the holidays special and memorable.  We all had such a great time and were so glad we were able to make the rounds and see everyone.  We were so excited to get home too because that meant one thing---SANTA CLAUS WAS COMING TO TOWN!!!!

Oh these two boys are SO cute together.

Having some fun with Daddy Pops.

Holton and I were getting a little nutty and silly on our drive home....See what I mean---the little man does not look the least bit sick does he?
