Thanksgiving Part 2

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  We left Sunday the 20th, hopped on Northbound I35 and off we were for Norman, Oklahoma.  It took us 9 hours.  We had a few extra stops along the way getting there.  The kids were fantastic aside from the millions of 'this is taking really longer' from Harper  :).  Holton, precious Holton...if people could clone a child, I am telling you people would pay the BIG bucks for his sweet little DNA.  He did-not-shed-one-tear-the-entire-road-trip.  Did you read that???  Not one tear.  He was strapped in his seat for 9 hours straight.  We stopped to change his diaper, but that was IT.  The sweet thing is nothing short of a direct gift from the hand of our sweet Lord.  What a precious child he is.  The last 3 hour stretch I sat by him in the middle row of the suburban.  We played "peekaboo" about a 1,000 times and he laughed at me at 999 just as he did at time #1.  Oh how he makes me smile.  What a JOY this baby boy is.

We had Monday and part of Tuesday to enjoy before everyone arrived.  The kids were happy to see Mini and Papa and play.  Papa brought his new trailer home for extra places to sleep, so the kids had a blast 'camping' in Papa's driveway.  Matt and I were able to sneak away for a movie and dinner on Tuesday.  We saw The Help at the dollar show.  I was dying for Matt to see it because I loved it so much.  He loved it too.  He's been telling the kids..."you is kind, you is smart, you is important."  I love that move, and I love dating my husband.

Family slowly started to trickle in on Tuesday.  Everyone arrived by Wednesday night (Everyone minus BIL Brandon and SIL Melissa who came on Friday night).  It was wonderful seeing everyone, catching up, and watching the kids play.  It was a wonderful week.

Karen was the hostess with the mostess as always.  Thanksgiving dinner was delicious as always.  We all were so stuffed and happy people.

My 31st birthday was on Friday the 25th.  We headed home that day.  31 is a bit harder for me than 30 was.  30 was fun and exciting and I got some pretty stinkin' awesome gifts....31---you are IN your 30's....  BUT I'm certain it's going to be a great year!  There is so much to be thankful for.

Here is our Thanksgiving week in pictures!!

We are so thankful for all of our family...this was one of our best Thanksgiving/Christmas celebrations yet. Having over 20 people in the house for 4 days can be overwhelming but nothing is better than to step back and listen to the laughter and love. It made our hearts full!
We love all of you! Mini & Papa

  2. 9 hours in the car??? With NO crying??? Surely you had a typo there? ;)

Can he come and give JK some pointers? :) She has a hard time not fussing as we simply drive around town. And now that I am thinking of it, so do our boys. ;)

Glad Thanksgiving was a great time. Loved catching up on your blog. I read them on my phone, but then save them as "unread" so I can come back and revisit them again...and comment. :)

I know I say it all the time, but you really have such a precious family. Blessings, my friend!
