Well, my guessing game had to come to an end. I heard the news was out on FB. Yes we have us a full blown house of testosterone. The Mullins name will be carried on. Holty is going to have a baby brother. 3 boys---WOW. We are so excited. I think nothing will be sweeter than my 2 baby boys in tow. And don't you know those 2 are going to be matching?? I have to tell you I love dressing my boys just as much as my girl.
Hayes Pierce Mullins. Hayes---just because we think it's a cool, different name. And it just so happens to be the last name of one of my college besties Amanda. Can't you just imagine a Hayes Mullins?? Won't he be so handsome?? HA! Pierce---we have loved the name Pierce for so long. Harper, had she been a boy, would have been Pierce Matthew. We aren't sure if he'll be our Hayes or our Pierce. We are definitely in limbo over it.
Finding out was really sweet. I'm not kidding the second she put the probe on my stomach it was a clear view of his boy parts. I saw it instantly and knew. She kept wiggling it around, but there was absolutely no denying we were having us another boy.

| YUP---I'd say it's definitely a boy! |
After she said boy I was wondering what Harper would do or say. Hudson of course let out a huge "YES", and Harper said, "I hoped it was a girl." I was kind of sad for her, but then I asked her what she thought about being our only girl and having another baby brother, and her response was a loud "I think it's GREAT!" I tell you what, knowing Harper, there is no doubt in my mind that God created her to be in a family full of brothers. She is the perfect sister in every way. I'm so thankful for her and for how extra special she is for being our only girl. Can you imagine later on in life when she decides to bring a guy home to not only meet her daddy but her 3 BROTHERS?? My goodness she is going to have to date some strong, confident guys. :)
Yesterday I was thinking about our 3 BOYS and I was praying for them and their relationship. That they will be close and the best of friends for their entire life. I also prayed that their bond with their sister is something that helps shape them into strong, yet sensitive men. Then I prayed for their wives. I prayed that Harper would have 3 of the best sisters in them. I prayed that we would be a close, tight-knit family and that their wives would be an added extra blessing to our family. I mean we've all seen it happen when couples get married and the wives can alienate themselves from the husband's family. I find it tragic when those things happens. It's never too early to be praying about the kind of mother-in-law you are going to be. (not even kidding). I had better buy some knee-pads because this mama is going to need some serious divine intervention. Matt and I surely cannot raise these children on our own.
We are beyond thrilled and thankful for our Hayes Pierce (Yesterday Matt and I were dead set on Hayes...today I woke up thinking he was Pierce. Hud calls him Pierce. Harp calls him Hayesie). Who will he be??? We are so excited to meet our little bonus boy. There is no doubt God wanted him to be apart of us. (I could go on and on and ON on how we should not have been able to have this baby---try a 1 in 4,000 shot at it. Matt's dr. was shocked we got pregnant). This little guy is nothing short of a miracle.

I love Hayes Pierce! I am so excited... just think we will have babies 12wks apart.
ReplyDeleteLove you all!
Thanks April. How fun we'll have babies so close. If you would have told me Jan 1st that we'd be having babies this year I would have laughed in your face. :) I'm thankful God's plans aren't always my own. Looking forward to our babies to get here!!

DeleteYay!! My first thought when I saw the ultrasound pic was boy... but then I started second guessing myself. Sooo happy for ya'll! I have 2 boys so far (we want 1 more baby in a year or two) and I've prayed the exact same prayers... that they will be close friends their whole lives, that their wives will be great friends, that we'll always be a close knit family, etc. And of course I've prayed that I'll be a wonderful MIL!! Anyway, I'm so excited for you and your family and absolutely love his name! Congratulations!!
