Friday morning started early and we hardly stopped at all that day. Hudson had his end of the year program. If you want a decent seat at these programs, you had better bank on getting there about an hour early. So that is what we did. Hudson during any type of school performance is borderline painful to watch. HA---no really, it's pretty funny. Hudson
never has enjoyed school performances. He does not like singing songs with hand movements or being in front of a large crowd. It's not his thing, never has been even when he was little bitty. Matt and I always give him these pep talks about participating, but he just flat out says he can't stand those songs and movements. (guessing Sing Song at ACU won't be his thing later on. HA). Despite Hudson feelings about the show, he did a great job all things considered. We were proud. Matt and I had some pretty big laughs watching him though. (Of course we made sure he couldn't see us).
After the performance we went to Hudson's classroom for their awards ceremony. About 3 weeks ago, Hudson came home with a list of different awards that he had to pick one for each of his friends in his class. Hudson's teacher then tallied their votes for each child's award. It was fun watching and seeing what they picked for each other. Hudson was voted "Class Clown". We were pretty surprised with that. I was glad to know Hudson has let his guard down and shown his funny side to his friends....I just hope he behaved as he knows he should.
It was so bittersweet hearing Hudson's teacher wrap up the school year. She shed quite a lot of tears. Her sweet, tender heart shows her passion for these kids so much. She has been the best teacher for Hudson. I could not have dreamed of a better year. We have been so blessed by her. She definitely set the bar when it comes to teachers. We checked Hudson out early so we could get an early start to our 3 day weekend. I was hugging her bye and she cried as she told me how much she loves Hudson and what a good boy he is....that he's just one big teddy bear. My hormonal self of course burst into tears with her. It always means so so much when someone compliments your child. Ohhh how we'll miss her.

LAST DAY!
My darling baby girl finished yet another year of preschool. It's been a wonderful, wonderful year. Harper loves school. She loves her teachers, her friends, and loves to learn. We had such a fun year in the Ladybug class....so much fun that we are going to do it again next year. :) Just like with Hudson, we aren't sending Harper to kindergarten until she is 6. Our preschool offers a 3 day a week Pre-K class for 5 year olds, but we decided to stick with 2 days again. We love our lazy Mondays at home and with Hayes coming in September I don't want to bite off more than I can chew when it comes to our schedule. AND if I am being completely honest, I just want Harper home with me. To think this will be my last year with her before she begins school, well...well, it's almost too much for me to think about.
Friday was Harper's last day of school. We attended the annual end of the year picnic. I was so glad to have Hudson with me because I sure needed the extra hands to help me out. He is a great helper for me. I warned Matt that next year he has the be there. I'll need all the help I can get. :) Friday was a busy fun day, and sure got us excited about summer!

One HUUUGE perk for being in the Ladybug class again is that her best friend Bethany will be joining her. I love preschool. Where else can you be in a class with your best friend? They will have so much fun together.
|
Harper and Mrs. Woodard. Oh how we love this sweet, sweet teacher.

First Day/Last Day---too much growing up going on in this house.

Friday night was the big wrap up Par-Tay with our life group. We had a BLAST. Every family was able to make it. 6 families with 17 kids total. Little Hayes will be our #18. WOW. We stayed until 10:00---that's BIG for me, friends. Come 9:00 on a Friday, and I am good for nothing. Scot and Aimee were such wonderful hosts. We had a feast of fajitas and all the fixins. The kids played outside in their huge backyard jumping on the trampoline and playing baseball. They had a ball. What a blessing these families are. The wives love being together, the guys are great friends, & the kids all love each other. It just doesn't get better than that.
After dinner, Scot and Aimee moved their dining room table and cranked up the music. The kids danced their booties off. It was hilarious. We were all dripping with sweat. My kids did not want to leave when it was time. It was the perfect closing to our great year together. Hands down these families are the best part of living here in San Antonio.

This kid can DANCE. He was sooo stinkin funny.

Scot and Aimee have this cool spot under their stairs. The little kids loved playing under there.
We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Matt was gone 4 days last week so needless to say the long weekend was sooo needed. We didn't do a whole lot, but it was great. Our neighbors yesterday had a party at their house. They cooked out and had homemade ice cream. We had a great time hanging with our neighbors and getting to know everyone down the street better. The kids love playing with everyone. I'm glad we were here and able to go.

These two look more and more alike to me everyday.

Hudson's last day is tomorrow. We are ready for summer. We kick off SUMMER on Thursday heading to the
JW Marriott. Ohhh how we are so ready and SO excited. It'll be great. It's one of our favorite family places on earth. I can't believe it's finally here.
House news----What a ride that was. We had an offer the first week we listed it. It was a great offer and the family seemed so so kind. They were so patient with us...almost too patient. I don't know if I would have been as kind as they were with wackos like us. We never signed their offer or accepted it. We looked for 3 solid weeks for a house (and the people with the offer waited on us and even gave us ANOTHER offer to get us to hurry up and decide). Don't even get me started on the house hunting, but I'll just say we found NADA. Nothing worth moving over, and definitely nothing that excited us. I'm sure our realtor thought I was the pickiest woman in the world. It's just not a decision I take lightly, and I absolutely 100% trust my gut & will not settle. So after 3 weeks, we denied their offer and pulled our house. We decided that we could make it work here for a while. Sure, we'll be a little cramped, but it'll be fine. It did give us hope that if/when we decide to move again our house might sell quickly. If anything this process got us organized. :) So we'll be calling our little cul-de-sac home for at least another year...if not longer. One thing I have learned with my pregnancy with Hayes----I am not the one calling the shots. God's plans trump your own---always....and that is ok with me.
Sounds like the kids are already on their way to a great summer of fun. We are glad your staying in that cute house. It is just in the greatest place and perfect for the kids to play. We look forward to seeing all of you soon. Hugs! Grammy & D'Pops
