Our 2 days in the hospital were great. We had us a wild time. When you have a new baby then throw
my LOUD (have you met my brother?) family into the mix---all I can say is you can only laugh and
enjoy it. In addition to Mini and Melissa visiting, our 2 days were spent with all of my immediate family coming in town to
meet our sweet Hayes. We enjoyed seeing everyone so much and were so happy that
they were able to be there for our last baby (didn't I say that almost 2 years ago?). Being far from family we know it's not an easy or convenient day trip or really even a weekend trip, but needless to say we are always thankful for the visitors.
My brother showed up with gifts for all of the 5 kids (my 4 and Camden) which brought a huge commotion. He gave Hudson a Nerf gun which in turn turned our hospital room into a war zone. They made a target on the door with a baby outfit, drew a face and taped it up, and then blew up some gloves for hands. Then they pulled the curtain and Hudson would roll under the curtain and start shooting the target. It was insane, but so funny. Matt and Paul really got into it too. Camden and Holty played cars in the middle of the floor---all the while passing around our new littlest love. It was fun and definitely a memory. I just knew we were going to get turned in for being so loud. Don't you know those first time parents next to us were freaking out?? I was waiting for them to bang on the wall or call security on us.
Matt and I enjoyed our time alone with Hayes. We knew the kids were in great hands with grandparents, cousin Camden, and their aunts around. Hudson had many lunch dates up at school. I felt so sorry for him having to go to school each day while we had so much company and activity going on. He did get pulled out early a few days, so I think that helped. While we were in the hospital we sooo enjoyed the stillness and peacefulness of Hayes and enjoyed the joy of meeting and falling in love with our baby boy. There really is nothing like it in the world the emotions of meeting your baby for the first time. We were so happy that Hayes was here and so proud to show him off.

| Just a glimpse at the craziness going on. I wish the face that they drew would have shown up in the picture (and they stuck it up there with gum mind you). You should have seen the nurses when they came in and saw this hanging on the door. They were good sports and got big laughs out of it. And you see that curtain to the left? They would close that and Hudson would roll/slide under it and start shooting. My life with boys....so thankful for my quiet, peaceful daughter---oh wait, no she's NOT. She's just as rowdy (and loud) as her brothers. :) |

| The little boys having fun. You sure had to watch where you stepped. |
 |
| Harper's bestie Bethany & her mama Jennifer came to visit us and meet Hayes. Sadly Hayes was off getting his manly procedure done, so they did not get to meet him until a few days later. We loved their visit---Harper especially did. :) |
He is one loved newborn! Best wishes to the happy family.
ReplyDeleteOh, I absolutely love it!!! I can just see the rowdy Mullins room at the hospital!!! Soooo different from those quiet first time mommy rooms, I agree. Glad you are embracing the chaos of life! What a fun family!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely different than when Hud was born...attention was all on him and passing him around. We still got to pass Hayes around but had to be very careful with all what was going on...so fun for everyone. Sweet Hayes already got to see what his life is going to be like...never a dull moment. So precious...all of them! Love all of you, mini
