Week 2: Mullins family visits.

My mom stayed with us for the week after Hayes was born.  It was so wonderful having her here.  We are always sad to see her go.  Thankfully after each of my babies she has been able to take time to come spend with us.  I don't know if I could bring a baby home from the hospital without her here.  She left on a Saturday, we had Sunday by ourselves, and Matt's parents came on Monday.  It was Papa's turn to meet Hayes.  It was SO nice having them here for week 2 of being home.  I was seriously in a sleep deprived fog (still am), so their help with the kids was wonderful.  Had Hudson not been in school M-F, I would have sworn they were on Spring Break from all the fun that they had.  I had many spurts throughout my days that week where Hayes and I were home alone.  As much as I missed our 'real life' schedule and having my big kids here, it was really nice having some peace and quiet and getting some rest.  The kids had so much fun going to the River Walk, eating at The Tower of Americas, going to the Rainforest Cafe, going to the Alamo (and Papa and Hudson saw The Alamo at the IMAX for the hundredth time--Huddy can't get enough of it), a trip to Bass Pro Shop to see all of the animals (Harper)...and many, many more fun outings.  Hudson got out of school early a few days which he loved!  Matt and I were so thankful for the help with early morning school routine for the kids, picking up around the house, fun outings and extra attention for the kids, meals, taking kids to and from school, night time baths & prep for the next morning...I could go on and on.  Week 2 extra help was priceless.

The following weekend Matt's younger sister Lauren and her hub Tyson came.  It was SO good to see them....it had been farrrr too long and wasn't near long enough.  It meant so much to us that they would come for such a quick trip to meet Hayes.  We enjoyed their visit---the kids especially did.  We went out for breakfast on Saturday am and then cooked out later that day.  It was so nice outside so we spent a good part of Saturday late afternoon letting the kids play.  It was a great day and a good ending to a fun week.

I love this picture.

We had so much fun "entertaining" while you got some rest, not as much as you needed though. We hated to leave knowing how your days were going to be like...dealing with the "new normal"...ha! We are so proud of you...you are a trooper and wonder woman for sure! Matt's energy is amazing too! You and Matt are wonderful parents to 4 precious blessings. We thank you for them too!
    Love, mini & papa
