November recap!

The end of November was so much fun.  Matt's parents, sister, and bro-in-law came to visit us the weekend before Thanksgiving.  We had a great time.  My 32nd birthday was the 25th, so Matt and I were able to sneak away for a date while we had plenty of babysitters around.  There isn't much that I love more than dating my husband---I loved dating him before we married, and I especially love dating him as his wife...but now that we have 4 loves that require a lot of our undivided attention, sneaking away with him is the greatest treat.  We had a wonderful evening and he spoiled me rotten for my birthday.
I was able to snap this picture for Karen and Curtis' Christmas card.  Not too bad for a quick photo shoot before dinner.  (I can't get over how handsome Hudson looks here---my boy is growing right before my eyes).

The rest of our weekend was spent playing around the house, a few home projects, an outing to La Cantera for dinner and pictures.  It was a wonderful weekend.

One of my favorite things at Harper's preschool is the Thanksgiving Feast for the kids.  Harper's class were pilgrims this year and they were just adorable.  Matt and I were able to go to Harper's feast by ourselves since family was here to watch the little boys for us.  It was fun to be there and be all about Harp with no little people distractions.  :)  I cannot believe this was the last feast for Harp in preschool.  My how fast her preschool years went by.

Hudson & Matt had a full week off for Thanksgiving.  I looove having all my people home.  We had a great week together just our family of 6.  We took the kids to Sea World one day and it was perfect.  The weather was so nice, it was not crowded, and Hayes did great!  We only spent about 4 hours which was plenty of time for us.  In between shows Matt rode a few rides with the big 3 while I stayed with Hayes.  They were all so cute and had so much fun.

My beautiful girl.

What my sweet baby thought about Sea World.  :)

This was our first family Thanksgiving here at home.  We were home for Thanksgiving when I was pregnant with Holton, but Thanksgiving fell on my 30th birthday so we were VERY nontraditional and went out for Mexican food at Mi Tierra (that was a really fun Thanksgiving).  We had a really yummy lunch.  Hudson and Harper were big helper in the kitchen.  We ordered our Greenberg Smoked Turkey from Tyler.  Delish!!  Karen had an extra batch of dressing that we love so she froze it and brought it to us when she came.  So all we had to make were the mashed potatoes, green beans, PW's mac and cheese, rolls, PW's cranberry sauce (hud's request), pink fluff, and pumpkin pie for dessert.  It was a really delicious lunch if I do say so myself.  It was extra sweet and low key just being us.  Definitely something I would not want to do year after year because we missed our family, but it was nice to not travel and enjoy our new family of 6.
My darling boy made us this Thanksgiving card.

Hud peeled all the potatoes---I loved over hearing Matt telling Hudson how a gentleman always helps the ladies in the kitchen.  Matt is the best dad---have I ever said that before???  :)

Harper girl helping make PW's mac and cheese.  It was really, really yummy.

Our feast.
Hayes was such a good boy while we cooked and got ready for lunch.

This kiddo loved every dish we made.

How cute is that Turkey booty??

They boys just horsin around.  (Matt was behind Hud holding Hayes up.  Hudson thought it was hilarious).

Hayes chillin while we ate.

While it was a different Thanksgiving not being away, it certainly was special.  We loved every minute of our time together.

As you can tell, we have out grown our kitchen table.  I think had you told me a year ago that we would have had another love joining us for Thanksgiving this year----well, let's not go there because who knows what I would have done.  BUT---here we are a family with 4 beautiful, healthy, amazing children. How can you not smile and be filled with joy when you see those faces?  I can't stop giving thanks for the amazing blessing these 4 are to me.  They are so loved and adored and being their mother is the greatest blessing of my life.  I am so very thankful.
