My sweet baby boy turned 2 yesterday. 2 years old. It was such a great day celebrating our big boy. Mini, Papa, and Lala came for the weekend. It went by far too fast... I guess that is what happens when you're having fun. My pictures are limited off of my camera---I stole some off of Lauren's camera. I always love her pictures the most anyways. :)
Yesterday Holton woke to a train track all throughout the bottom story of our house. He was in train heaven. This little boy loves all things cars, trucks, trains---you name it. He played and played. We sang to him while he had a Krispy Kreme doughnut for breakfast. After Holton's nap we loaded up and went out for a late lunch of pizza at Grimaldis. One thing you need to know about Holton is that this child loves pizza. After pizza we went to ride the train by the zoo. Oh how he could have ridden the train all day long. He sits there so peacefully and just takes it all in. He got to meet the conductor (or the choo choo man as Holty calls him). We then went home for a big choo choo cake and ice cream. Holton opened his gifts and played until bed time.
Holton is such a special little boy. He is so funny, brings so much joy and laughter to our lives. I cannot imagine our family without him. Last night I rocked him before bed and thought about the last 2 years. What a fun day it was the day we met our Holty...and what joy it's been watching him grow. I sang Happy Birthday to him before putting him to bed and he kept saying 'again mommy', so I sang it probably 10 times. I couldn't hold him or squeeze him enough. It was one of those moments you want to hold tight to.
Oh Holty boy---What a light you are. You are one of the funnest and funniest little boys I've ever met. I am always so excited to see you when you wake up in the morning and after your nap. You play hard and you crash hard when you are worn out. You are so smart and are one big chatterbox. I love every bit of the 2 year old little boy you are. Your sweet voice is SO painfully cute. You say phrases and words so stinkin cute that I can't bear for you to change it. But just like your big brother and sister, you will grow and learn that a train is called a train and not a choo choo, that a horse is called a horse and not a neigh, & that lunch isn't really called munch---I could go on and on. You are still so cuddly. We rock you before bed every night...and could quite possibly be the best part of my day. You love to rock. You love books and could sit and read all day. You are not content sitting beside me (or anyone who is reading to you), you want to be right up in the middle of my lap. That can be a challenge when I am nursing Hayes, but you have figured out the empty spots on the boppy and will plant yourself right there. We make it work. :) You are the best little brother and the best big brother. God put you 3rd in our family for a reason, and I cannot picture you anywhere but in the middle with Harper. I love the bond you have with Hudson and Harper and how much you love them (and they you) and look up to them. I love how sweet you are with Hayes and look so forward to seeing you two become two peas in a pod. I know God has a mighty plan in store for you because you are one in a million. I pray that you love the Lord as a child and feel His calling over your life. I pray that God uses your daddy and I to point you to Him and that He uses us to help mold you into who He created you to become.
You are loved and adored in every way possible. I am so glad that you are mine. Don't grow up too fast ok??
Happy Birthday my love....
Love, your mommy
