My oh my do I have my work cut out for me blogging. There has been so much fun over the last month that I have to get on here & catch up...and soon. A certain almost 2 year old got a hold of my laptop and it hasn't been the same since. We need to take it to the Apple doctor and soon because I cannot live without my macbook, and sadly no macbook means no pics from my camera on my blog. :(

This is my first time to blog on the iPad using blog press. I got Matt one of those handy dandy leather iPad cases with the keyboard for Christmas. Definitely makes blogging so much easier on this thing. I'm having to use pictures off of my iphone/ipad since my computer is out of whack, but really in all honesty that is where I take most of my pictures anyway.

Alrighty---Let's get to THE cutest, sweetest 4 month old on the planet. Hayes Pierce, you are 4 MONTHS OLD!! 1/3 through your first year. I have absolutely loved this past month. Hayes' precious personality has just shined through. He is the best baby. So sweet, so laid back, so happy. Over Christmas so many were commenting on what a 'perfect' baby he is....and while I do not like to use the word 'perfect', this sweet angel is pretty darn close. He really only fusses when a need of his needs to be met--and NOW. Which, sorry bud, you're #4 sometimes you gotta fuss for a minute. Hayes has become far more predictable which makes getting out far easier. We don't get out much, but when we do we usually hit places during a sloooow time.

This picture above was taken on our drive to Tyler. It's sweet faces like that that make you want to pull over and get him out of the carseat just to love on him.

This past month Hayes learned to roll over. He can roll both ways, but prefers to roll from his back to his tummy the most. Hayes went on his first road trip to Tyler over Christmas. He did really great...we all did great. I don't know why traveling with the 6 of us seemed like such a huge deal, but it was & I am glad to say our first road trip is behind us now. I get nervous before traveling with little ones---especially when I'm nursing. There is just no easy convenient way to do it. But, all things considered...4 kids & 2 of them being babies, we did good. I sat in the back in between Holton and Hayes and entertained those boys the best I could.

While in Tyler we had the biggest scare from Hayes. We all caught a cold that was not fun. It actually started with Hayes and then we all had fun with it. One night while we were at my mom's--it was around midnight, Hayes started coughing the most horrible cough I have ever heard. SCARED-ME-TO-DEATH. I am not exaggerating one bit. I was terrified and thought we needed to call 911 because I thought he could not breathe. We went to the bathroom and started a hot shower for him to breathe which calmed him down. We knew he could breathe because he was crying in between the coughing. Matt and I decided to take him to the ER because we were scared somthing was really wrong with him. I held him in the back of the suburban all the way there because when he was laying on his back it got worse. To make a long story short, Hayes had croup. I'd heard of it, but never heard a croup cough. It's the worst sounding cough there is. Google it. They gave him an oral steroid that helped almost immediately. The dr at the emergency room was one of the kindest drs I had ever been around. In my 7 1/2 years of being a mommy, that was my first ER experience...and hopefully my last. The picture above was when we were about to leave the hospital a 3 am. The sweet boy was so smily and so cuddly even when he didn't feel well. Matt and I were exhausted the next day.

These past few months have flown by. With each passing week life gets a little easier around here. I have forgotten what life was like with 3 kids...4 just feels like the norm. We still have crazy moments (and I am pretty sure we will the rest of our lives), and we still aren't mega social because let's face it, we are wild, loud bunch.
I've been thinking so much about blogging and my main purpose in writing is doing this for my kids. I've been blogging for 7 years!! Since Hudson was 3 months old--- I want to document our lives, funny stories, big and small events....what a gift this blog will be to all of us later on in life. So 2013---I want to be a better blogger. Gotta get that computer fixed asap.

Happy 2013!!! I agree, this blog/journal will be such a treasure to your kids someday. Have you ever published it using a blog to book site? That is on my long to do list. I'm always afraid something will happen to blogger and then I will have lost my family album/journal.
ReplyDeleteHannah had the croup a couple months ago and we were scared to death as well. It started in the middle of the night and we both ended up sleeping with her because that cough sounded so bad!!! Then, during the day it wasn't too bad but it would come back at night. After a few nights of this, I called the pediatrician. Definitely gives parents a scare!
Happy 4 months Mr. Hayes! I am so glad you are a great baby for your momma!
What a delight that little 4 month old Hayes is. He has the best smile ever and can melt anyones heart. We enjoyed y'alls trip to Tyler and are so glad you got the first one out of the way so you can have many more. We look forward to a trip to San Antonio in the near future. Love you all!!
