2 months! How is that it's almost been 2 months since my last update. Horrrrrrible. My longest stretch to date in my 7 years of blogging. No excuses here (other than there are 4 little people who demand a lot of their mama's time). :) I keep thinking I'll get better at it....I hope so.
Are you ready for the mother of all blog updates? We're talking probably 5+ updates in one. Here we go, and if you make it to the end, you are a kind, devoted blog reader of mine and I love you. :)
- Daddy Pops, Grammy, Nana, Colt, and Camden came. We always love when they come. Camden absolutely loves my 4. He thinks Hudson and Harper are the greatest thing alive. Seriously, he adores them. The feelings are very mutual. Hud loves that Camden thinks he's so cool. :) Holton and Camden are getting to the age where they are starting to interact more and play together. It really is sweet watching them get close. We had a fun weekend. We spent the majority of it playing outside. The weather was perfect.

Hud was loving life---flag football! |
- Mini and Papa came late February. We had a great time. They took the kids to do all kinds of fun stuff. Probably the highlight was going to the Wilderness Ranch and to eat dinner at the Gristmill.

Such a great pic! |
- I ran my first ever 5k. Yes, you read that correctly. I, Allison Mullins, ran my first ever 5k. I did not walk a step of it. Not only did I run the whole thing, but it is worth noting that the ENTIRE run was HILLS. If you weren't going up a hill, you were coming down. It was terrible. There are no flat streets here in San Antonio. Running this race was huge for me because I am not a runner. Never have been. I get the worst shin splints in the world which has always kept me from running. I started running once a week with a group of girls that I workout with and we would do one long(er) run a week. It has been fun and I always look forward to it.

- Spring Break we went to Plano for a few days. We stayed with Melissa and Brandon which is always great fun. Hayes got to meet his Gigi and G-daddy (Matt's grandparents). It was so good seeing them and introducing our baby boy to them. We love going back to Plano. It's where our married life started and it's so fun to be back in our old stomping ground. Such special memories there with my love. Matt and I were able to sneak away for a date at Mi Cocina (without a doubt our favorite Mexican food restaurant EVER---especially the Plano location). We chatted nonstop, laughed our heads off, and spent so much time talking about life over the last 10 years together. I have to say, I love dating Matthew Mullins. While there we would look at that table we used to sit at and I could see us in my mind pregnant with Hudson and wondering how on earth life would pan out...God is so good and taken such good care of us.

Sweet Lala was able to hang with us a few hours too. Love love love her. |
- Sunday morning we were able to visit our old church there. Feels like going 'home'....and to think we went there when it was just the 2 of us and now there is 6. After church we went on to Tyler for a few days. It was great being there. The kids had so much fun playing with Camden, going out on the lake, and being outside. Makes us excited to go back this summer.

- While in Tyler my mom treated my sister and I to a SPA day. It was HEAVENLY. We spent the night in this amazingly cute condo, had massages and pedicures, & went to this great sushi spot for dinner. We had a blast and felt so spoiled. Hayes was our party crasher, but we loved having him with us. It was one of the funnest things I have done in a long time.

- Hayes turned 6 months old over Spring Break. I cannot believe he is 6 months old (actually now almost 7 months). CRAZY how fast this time has gone with him. I have so much to update on him, and will wait until his 7 month post. He's been a busy boy growing up on me over the last 2 months.
- My SIL Melissa is PREGNANT! We are SO excited!!! We are thrilled to have another baby added to the family. We already love this little one so much. We think we know what she is having, but it's not 100% yet. We'll know in a few more weeks. We.ARE.SO.EXCITED!

- We are looking for a house. Yes, here we go again. Last year when we did this we put our house up first and had 2 offers in the first week, BUT we never found a house. So we pulled it off the market and decided we'd wait until 'next year.' Well, some how 'next year' is here and now, so we are actively on the search for our house. I have high expectations on what I am looking for. We plan on being in this house for many, many years and raising our family there. Matt got a promotion recently (huge blessing, and surprise), so with this new job with Wells Fargo we now know San Antonio will be our home long term....unless, of course, God has other plans down the road. We have such a peace that we did not have last year while house hunting. When you limit yourself to a certain zip code and schools, you really are limited in the houses on the market. I feel very strongly about our schools where we live as well as the area, so when the right house for us comes along we plan to snag it up and fast. We are praying hard about it....we shall see.
 |
These pictures have nothing to do with house hunting. Just cuties. |
 |
These 2 think it's a pretty big deal to stand while holding Hayes. We don't let them do it much, but they sure think it's pretty cool when we do let them. |
 |
I am so crazy about this train conductor 2 year old. |
- Easter--OH my were these 4 the cutest things EVER on Easter. We had such a great weekend together. I love our weekends and I especially love long weekends with an extra day. We had a wonderful Sunday celebrating our risen Lord, had a great Sunday brunch at The Cheesecake Factory, and spent the rest of our day being lazy and having an Easter egg hunt. Great fun.

I love a trip down memory lane. |
- Sooo I might be potty training Holton. Not too sure yet. My only hiccup to this plan is a little guy named Hayes. Holton yesterday was telling me he needed to GO potty and GO he did...on two separate times. He has mastered the #1 a while back so needless to say when the #2 was not a big deal at all to him yesterday I thought this was something I needed to run with. We'll see how committed I am to this right now. My plan all along was this summer. Who knows...

- I've started the weaning process of Hayes. Matt won a trip thru work for the end of May, so my goal was to have him weaned by the end of April so I could have him good and trained for Mini and Melissa when we are gone for a week. Weaning is always bittersweet. I have had a child either living inside of me or living because my body supplies their food supply for the LAST 3 YEARS SOLID. I had ONE month over the last 3 years where I was not pregnant or nursing a baby. Seriously, I quit breast-feeding Holton and the next month we got pregnant with Hayes. So to say I am ready for my body to be my body would really be the understatement of the year. I really went thru the emotional 'this is my last baby I'll ever nurse' bit with Holton---because I really thought he was it. In all honesty it is such a roller coaster of emotions weaning him, but in the end it's 7 months of nursing while tending to 2 big kids and a wild and crazy toddler.....I think I deserve a gold star for my efforts. :)

- My brother's 2nd album is out. Check them out here!! It really is a fantastic album. Give them a listen on Itunes...I promise you will not be disappointed! Love my bro!
