Can you go from a baby to a BIG BOY in just a weekend??

I THINK SO! OH MY GOODNESS, I have the smartest, fastest learning almost 2 year old there is! So Friday was the BIG day. Matt and I put it off for ONE more week. It was the dreaded attempt to switch from the baby bed to the big boy bed. Friday night we did our normal bed time routine and then Matt and I both tucked Hudson into his big boy bed. We then left his room, and heard NOT A PEEP. Hudson has slept and napped everyday since Friday night in is new bed. He has NOT crawled out once, nor has he cried. It has been AMAZING!

THEN....another fascinating event took place on Friday. Every time I change Hudson's diaper we talk about how poo poo and tee tee go in the potty. I also say that big boys use the potty...ect, ect. So I asked him, "Hudson, do you want to go and try to tee tee on the potty?" He wanted to and was excited to try. So we went to the potty and HE DID IT! The smile on his face was priceless, and boy did we ever celebrate. He tinkled 4 times that day, and on Saturday he POOPED in the potty too!!!!! I seriously was in TOTAL shock. I never knew he could turn into a BIG BOY over night. I am not trying to potty train totally (because I have NO clue how to do that), but I am introducing him to the potty and helping him feel more comfortable going. He is one amazing little boy!!!!

I went to the doctor today. If Harper does not make her arrival before, we are inducing July 9. That is my due date. I feel really good having an END IN SIGHT!!! We are really excited. That gives me just over 2 weeks to get a lot done. I can hardly wait!!!! That gives us Harper on a Monday and then Hudson's big 2nd birthday on that Friday! What a week that will be!

We finished Harper's room this weekend too. I'll post pictures of both Hudson and Harper's room. They look really cute, and I am so proud of both.

I don't have any new pictures to post of Hud. I just had to brag on my little Big boy!

Hasnt life changed since college. Who would have ever thought big boy/girl beds and potty training would excite us so much. I am with you on the "not knowing how", but I am SOOO proud of Hudson. Chloe is interested and we sit there alot, but it mainly involves just alot of talking to me while she is sitting there pushing (nice, huh?) We cant wait to see little Harper. What a gorgeous little girl she will be. Congrats Hudson on being such a big boy!

  4. WOW!! How lucky you are for these transitions to go so easily! Kennan won't have anything to do with the big boy bed and isn't fascinated at all with the potty! I'm glad Hudson has made this easy on you!

  5. That is amazing, Allison! He really is way advanced but I am sure you know that already. Hopefully you won't have to change two kids' diapers for long! :)
