Our Weekend!

We have had a fun weekend. Matt's sister Lauren and her boyfriend Tyson came to stay with us. We went down town Friday night. We walked around and had dinner at Mi Cocina. It was such a nice evening. We ate outside and really enjoyed ourselves. Hudson and Harper had a good time too! Saturday we lazed around all day, cooked dinner here, and rented a movie. Going to Blockbuster is HUGE for us these days. Since we have not been to a movie in FOREVER we are like kids in a candy store excited to see what the new releases are. Pretty much every new movie at Blockbuster is a movie that we have yet to see. Now that Harper sleeps good at night we can actually stay up late and watch movies. Last night we watched Blood Diamond. WOW, is it a good movie. Very disturbing, but really good.

I bought the kids their Halloween costumes about a week ago. I have been so excited to dress them up. Harper is going to be a leopard and Hudson a lion. I thought it was a cute idea, and their costumes are oh so cute. Well, I knew Hudson would LOVE being a lion since he loves animals so much. We talked about him being one and how to say "trick or treat". He kept talking about how he was going to dress up like a "big lion." Well, the costume came in and you would think I was torturing my child. He HATES it. He was all excited to put it on then he looked in the mirror and saw himself and started screaming. Now when I say, "Hudson, let's go try on your very NICE lion costume," he says "NO" and runs away. (See pictures below). So now I am back at square one with him. At least I am ahead of the game and have plenty of time to go to plan b!

Now here's the best part of any blog post....PICTURES!!!

My 2 sweet babies right after their bath. How precious are they???

At Mi Cocina with daddy and Tyson, and Hudson making faces with his soaking wet shirt.

Hudson's cute new lion costume.....And he hates it!

  1. Way to go MOM!!! Kidding. Costumes are hard at this age. Jude doesn't like anything on his face or head. Well, he is going to be a cowboy and is wearing a hat. Masks are OUT of the question. You just never know. Maybe he'll warm up to the idea. Maybe dress Harper up and show him how cute she looks.

I LOVE the pictures of the 2 of them. Gorgeous kids!!

  2. Sounds like y'all had a fun weekend! Lauren had a few stories for me! :) I love their post-bath pics and his costume is precious! But that scared look on his face! Wow! I miss you guys! Love ya!

  3. Love the pictures of your cute kiddos in diapers! Precious! I really love the picture of Hudson crying in his lion costume. I think I am a cold-hearted person. Pictures of children throwing tantrums crack me up. Your picture has also encouraged me to try Jackson's Halloween costume on him very soon!

Also, I am glad that Harper was free! You guys definitely deserve that after your HORRENDOUS experience. I can't even imagine.

  4. I haven't gotten Tripp a Halloween costume, yet. Thanks to you, I won't be surprised if he doesn't like dressing up. I am sorry Hudson doesn't like his costume, but the picture of him upset is adorable. Love the diaper shots, too. Glad to hear that Harper was free and you guys are doing well!

Allison, I laughed out loud at poor Hudson's sad face in the Lion costume. The costume really is cute... I hope that he likes it by the time Halloween comes around! And absolutely adorable pics of the kids together. The one of Hud looking over at Harper is soooo sweet.

  9. Those Lion pics are GREAT! Random question for you ... didn't you get pregnant belly pics done? At what week/month did you get them? I don't want to get them too early, but I don't want to wait until I am crazy big either :) What's the "norm"?

  10. Too funny! I would have said hi to you at the mall if I had been closer. I work at night and on weekends at Macy's in the Fashion Jewelry/Handbag Depts. You should stop by sometime!

I do know the Griers, at least Mike. I went to him to get a couple of teeth worked on. They moved to Grandview either right as I was moving to Abilene or right after, so I don't know them that well. My sister, who's 19, knows them really well. My mom, aunt, and grandma also use Mike as their dentist. What a small world!!

  11. Very cute pics! I love keeping up with you guys. Harper is the cutest girl I've ever seen. She is truly growing so much. Hey, send me your e-mail address. I can't find it. I also created a blogspot because I loved yours so much. peckhamfamily.blogspot.com

    Love ya!

  12. The pictures of Hudson in his lion costume are precious! I hope he likes it when Halloween is here. Kaylee will be in Tyler with Tripp and Thatcher for Halloween. We are going to find a theme for the boys but don't know yet what it will be.

I talked to Kelley Saturday. She was in Austin to watch the UT football game. Her brother is number 26 on the football team. He really doesn't get to play much, but this game he was able to play a lot! I told her we have been blogging and I will email you her telephone number.

    Have a good week!
